Look After You

HAHA I GET MY GCSE RESULTS TOMORROW AND I AM FREAKING OUT HELP

TW: I don't think there are any but like Dan's hit by a car so?

"Can you hear that, Dan? They're coming. They're going to help you." Phil mumbled, brushing a piece of hair over Dan's ear. Dan's eyes were firmly shut, his mouth agape as his breathing was slow. Blood was pouring out of the side of his skull and Phil knew that, with every moment that passed, Dan was getting closer to death. "You're okay.." Phil let out a harsh laugh. "Well, I know you're not okay but you'll be okay."

The ambulance sirens were getting louder and Phil was wishing they'd hurry. His eyes were burning as tears dripped down onto his limp boyfriend.

"Just a few more moments, okay? Hold on.. for me."

"I can't." A tiny voice whispered, husky and dry. Phil swallowed thickly, watching as his boyfriend's face screw up in pain. "I can't move."

"I know but the ambulance is on its way."

"What even happened?" Dan let out a loud cough, wincing at the movement.

"You were hit by a car but it's okay."

"It's not-" Dan was cut off as someone ran over to him, wearing their medical uniform. Phil's heart was beating fast and his vision was going blurry as everyone helped Dan into the ambulance.

Phil was pacing up and down the waiting room, the only thing keeping him sane being the regular tap of his feet on the hard floor. He had been waiting for over two hours because apparently Dan had to be 'rushed into surgery' because he was in a critical condition.

Phil had bitten his lip raw with anxiety and fear. Then the moment that could make or break his heart was happening and he was doing his best not to break down. "Anyone here for Daniel Howell?"

Phil's head perked up and he nodded rapidly, following the nurse into the room. "He's stable. He's a very lucky man: if the car hit him just a little bit harder, he could be dead or severely brain damaged."

"Thank you." Phil said in a pathetic whisper. The nurse left with one more small, sympathetic smile. "Dan! Oh Dan..." Phil mumbled once he noticed his boyfriend wrapped in bandages and plugged into so many machines.

"I'm okay." Dan forced out in a hushed whisper.

"You don't look it..." Phil took Dan's hand and kissed it softly.

"At least I'm not dead."

"True." Phil felt all the tears well in his eyes again as he began to think about that possibility. He was never ever going to let Dan out of his sight again and he was going to make sure he was safe. Dan couldn't leave him. He couldn't. Phil would die along with him.  "When will you be able to come home?"

"The doctor said that I need to stay for at least a week so they can do scans and all that."

"Oh okay. I'll get lonely without you."

"Me too."

Phil was at the hospital every day from opening to closing time. He was forever by his boyfriend's side and he made sure he was always safe and okay. He would comfort him and make sure he always had enough to eat and drink.

He was going to look after his boyfriend.

Can I just apologise because I doubt I'll be posting regularly anymore. I've written so many one shots that I've run out of ideas, you know? And writing used to be a coping mechanism for me when I was depressed but I'm happy now. I'm really really happy so I don't really need writing to cheer me up anymore.

When I go to sixth form in September I'm probably going to be super busy too so I won't have much time to write. I'll still write occasionally but not often.. Probably not even once a month. Maybe even less than that... I hope that's okay?

*hugs all of you* thank you to everyone who has ever read any of my one shots. It means the world to me that so many people have enjoyed something I have written. Writing will always have a special place in my heart: I've met so many people through it. I've made lots of friends (even though I've lost most of them now..) and I met my girlfriend because of it. I never expected to get so many reads so it makes me so happy. You're all so so amazing, don't let anyone tell you otherwise<3

It honestly breaks my heart to say I won't write as much as I used to but I hope you understand :3
