Phil's literally the best friend ever

TW: I don't think there are any but this is based on Dan's breakdown at uni so keep that in mind I guess?

"Come on, Dan just a couple more years..." Dan mumbled to himself, pacing back and forwards in his room whilst trying to compose himself. His mind was going crazy because of his stupid law work. He had long since thrown his textbook across the room, not even bothering to check if he had torn it or anything because he didn't care. He didn't care at all anymore. "Why'd I choose this stupid subject when I hate it so much?" Dan's thoughts were so loud that he didn't even hear his friend knock on his door, despite it being so loud.

Phil walked in, his eyebrows furrowed in concern. Dan wasn't even crying; he was just dazed and it was pretty terrifying to watch. "Dan?" Phil whispered, trying to keep his voice gentle so that he didn't scare Dan. When there wasn't even the smallest amount of acknowledgement from his friend, he repeated himself a little louder, daring to place a hand on his shoulder.

"What?" Dan asked, snapping out his daze and looking at his best friend.

"You don't need to finish university. You can drop out, you know?"

"I don't want to disappoint anyone..." Phil wrapped his arms around his best friend, rubbing his back gently.

"You won't disappoint anyone. Everyone will just be happy that you've done what will make you happy."

"You think?" Dan pulled away from his friend, glancing at the textbook on the floor. Tears began to flood in his eyes: he just wanted to be happy with his life. That was all he asked.

"I know." It was at that point that Dan began to cry, burying his head into his friend's shoulder. He had never realised that Phil was always going to be there for him, no matter what he chose to do with his life. Dan made a promise to himself: he was going to take a year off until his mental health improved or he would even drop out. Whichever helped him feel happier.

"Thank you for being here for me, Phil. I don't say it enough but I love you and I appreciate you a lot." Dan meant it in a platonic way and they both knew it and thought nothing of it. Dan was just so proud and grateful to be able to call Phil his best friend. Phil was literally the best friend ever.

Okay serious question here

I've written another fanfiction but I have some potentially bad news...

It's isn't about Phan. (*everyone gasps*)

It's about Blank and Dark (Markiplier and Ethan/CrankGameplays' egos). There isn't really a proper ship in it but it can be interpreted that Dark and Blank are together and I guess maybe Mark and Ethan? But I don't reeeeeally ship either of them oops I just LOVE the idea of egos. It's such a cool concept and I mean I must love them a lot because it inspired me to write something which is hard to do these days!

Would you be interested in it?

I would change it to Phan but I don't think the story is appropriate for that ship? Do you know what I mean?

So yeah, should I post it? Or just keep it to myself? I don't mind either way :p

Here's the blurb (or what I have of it so far):

Ethan is haunted by nightmares. Every night Blank comes for him, torturing him until the moment he wakes up. So he's living off minimal sleep and way too many cups of coffee.

It isn't healthy and he knew that. But what else could he do?

Mark thinks he helps when he sleeps with him but, in reality, that means Dark can join in with the torturing. It isn't fun. Ethan can't take it anymore.

But Blank isn't bad. At least, he doesn't want to be.

Will the torturing ever end? Or will it carry on until the day Dark kills Ethan?
