4th of July

An array of blues and purples covered the dark night sky.

It was the 4th of July. It typically wasn't a Holliday that Shadowhunters celebrated, but Magnus forced Alec to go out and watch them.

Luckily, Jace and Clary or Simon and Izzy didn't feel the need to also go out. Because they could now babysit Rafe and Max, and Magnus and Alec would be alone for the first time in months.

Alec looked up just in time to see the dark sky be colored with red and yellow and to hear the thundering sound.

He jumped slightly leaning back comfortably on Magnus.

They were in the nearest park to their loft.

People were launching beautiful fireworks in the central area, and Magnus and Alec were laying in an open field. No one was their to spy on them, or to ruin their day. Even if it was 2013 there were still people that had their opinions, even if they were wrong.

Alec was laying in between Magnus' legs with his head on his thigh. Magnus ran his Shadowhunters Raven hair.

They watched the fireworks paint the sky. It was truly marvelous. Alec yawned not after too long of sitting and gazing at the sky. It was their night off and he was tired at a quarter till eleven.

Magnus pulled on Alec's hair, making the blue-eyed boy look at him.

Magnus leaned down and kissed Alec's forehead. He brushed his hair away. Another firework fired.

Alec stared into his fiance's hypnotizing golden and green cat eyes. No amount of time would ever make Alec's love for the enchanting eyes lessen.

"I love you," Alec whispered before he even comprehended what he was saying.

Magnus smiled lightly,"And so do I Sayang."

Alec grabbed Magnus' hand and began to draw invisible patterns. Magnus sighed and leaned back on the grass so that they were both laying down.

Alec moved up so that he could put his arms around Magnus' chest. Alec pressed his head against Magnus' shoulder, and intertwined their legs.

They laid their comfortably for possibly hours. They watched as the sky changed various colors. From purple to gold and green, and to the famous red, white, and blue.

Magnus would often steal kisses from Alec when he was distracted. Alec always smiled and kissed back. It had been too long since they were able to be together. With even small kisses like these, Rafe and Max were bound to comment on seeing their fathers kiss. Magnus always found it hilarious, Alec only got annoyed. That only made the circumstances funnier.

"What are you thinking about?" Asked Alec while he looked up at Magnus.

Magnus shrugged, causing Alec's head to get hit. "The kids, and how they hate when I kiss their dad," Magnus said while kissing Alec gently on the lips. Alec smiled lightly, but that quickly changed into a frown.

"It's so annoying," Alec said while moving his hands to cover his face. "We can't be intimate at all and I just want to kiss you but I can't with out a chorus of  'Ew's' following along," Alec complained. A faint blush covered his cheeks from him getting flustered.

Magnus sighed at how beautiful he looked.  His raven hair was scattered around his head, his lapis eyes showed the night stars and fireworks. And the faint color in his cheeks was too adorable.

Magnus sat up carefully so that Alec, who still had his hands on his face, didn't notice. Magnus then proceeded in straddling Alec. Alec jumped slightly before realizing it was Magnus. 

Magnus pressed his hips against Alec's before leaning down to give him a deep kiss. Magnus felt Alec smile against his lips before he eagerly kissed back.

Magnus ran his hands through Alec's hair, and Alec latched his arms around Magnus neck.

Magnus pulled on Alec's hair lightly before biting his lip. Magnus smiled when he heard the young Shadowhunter moan.

Magnus reluctantly pulled away. Alec gave protest and tried to pull Magnus towards him but Magnus was able to sit up.

Magnus brushed Alec's hair out of his face.

"Let's go home," Magnus said just in time for a firework to paint the sky once again. This one was a perfect mixture of dark and light blue. And against the black sky it looked quite magical.

Alec groaned before getting up. "Are the kids staying at the Institute?" Alec asked as Magnus opened a portal.

"I believe so," Magnus said with a smirk before motioning for Alec to step into the portal. Magnus stepped through and closed the portal soon after him.

They both landed in the main living area of their flat.

Alec ran a hand through his hair before yawning. Magnus quietly walked behind his Shadowhunter and wrapped his arms around Alec's waist. Without hesitation Alec leaned into Magnus.

"Tired?" Magnus whispered. Alec nodded while closing his eyes. Magnus smiled before kissing Alec's timple.

Magnus noticed a smile that crept onto Alec's lips.

Alec turned around and kissed Magnus lightly on the lips.

Magnus pulled Alec against him so there was no more room between them.

Alec's eyes danced as he put his arms around Magnus' neck. Magnus put his forehead against Alec's before sighing.

"Let's sleep, you're tired and the kids are going to cause a riot in the morning since they are with Jace and Simon," Magnus whispered before giving Alec another slow kiss.

Alec nodded while stepping away from Magnus. He yawned again and Magnus had to restrain himself from kissing him again.
