Beach Ft. Max & Rafe

SPOILERS : Possible spoilers for Lady Midnight.

Magnus bent down and scooped up his youngest child. He held Max with one arm while holding Rafe's hand with the other.

Surprisingly they were waiting for Alec, not Magnus this time.

They were all going to the beach with Clary, Jace, Izzy and Simon. Alec had decided that they all needed a break. Especially now that Isabelle and Simon were now married, and Magnus had been busy dealing with the surges of dark magic around the California area. It didn't help with the Black Volume missing.

Rafe attempted to pull his hand out of Magnus's. Magnus started tapping his foot.

"Alec let's go! Rafe's getting impatient," yelled to Alec. He wasn't even fully aware of where he was in their loft.

A door of one of the spare rooms opened as Alec stepped out. He was wearing a white tank that showed his arms beautifully. He had dark blue swimming shorts on.

Magnus wolf whistled, Alec then shot him a glare that could kill small demons.

He had a bag that was over his shoulder. Magnus assumed it was things for the kids.

Alec grabbed Max who had now pressed himself against Magnus' chest. Max yawned and closed his eyes the moment Alec had him in his arms.

"Someone didn't take a nap," Alec said with a smile playing on his lips.

Magnus had started to realize weeks ago that Max didn't enjoy sleeping that much. He would rather stay up and do nothing. He always refused to take naps during the day.

"He'll get excited once we get to Florida," Magnus said. Everyone wanted to go to Florida to swim. Isabelle said she perfered the water, and the rest just wanted to get out of New York.

Magnus let go of Rafe, opened a portal to the Institute and then picked him up. Since Rafael was only five he was still small, but it often concerned Magnus how small he was.

Magnus stepped through the portal while holding Rafe tightly. Neither of the kids were accustomed to teleporting.

The library of the Institute popped into view. It was always calming to Rafe. For both the Shadowhunting reasons and books. Rafe was a huge fan of reading and often liked for Alec and Magnus to read to him, he even attempted to try and read to Max.

Alec came through directly after with Max who was still somehow sleeping.

Magnus set Rafael down, he instantly sprinted to the books. Magnus laughed slightly when he almost tripped over a book that was left on the ground.

Alec smacked him on the back with his free hand.

At that moment the doors to library opened. Clary, Simon, Isabelle, and Jace all entered with bathing suits on. They all were radiating excitement.

Of course that came with noise.

Max moved restlessly in Alec's arms. The quieted once they saw.

Isabelle came over wanting to hold him. Alec gently declined. He trusted his sister, but he still wished to gold him.

Magnus closed their portal, and then opened another one. This one was definitely harder to open since the destination was basically across the country.

Alec gave Magnus a concern look, but Magnus waved him off. Alec still didn't seem pleased.

Magnus called for Rafe, he cane running and jumped onto Magnus. Magnus kissed the top of his head and stood up. Alec went through the portal first this time. He was followed by the others. Magnus then went while closing the portal behind him and Rafe.
