Meeting Mischief

Everyone sat in the enormous library of the New York Institute. It was time for an annual meeting. Why they had them no one exactly knew.

It was a time when all of the Lightwoods, Clary, and Magnus would have to debreif about everything that had happened that could either be useful to the Clave or something of family matters since Maryse was the one that always came.

Alec always quickly tuned out of the meeting. It was pointless. They had no information that would be helpful to the Clave. It was just another inconvience.

He sighed before leaning his his head on the cushion behind him. Magnus had his head on Alec's lap and his legs thrown over the armrest. He was facing Alec with his eyes closed. Alec ran his hand through Magnus's hair gently.

Maryse droned on about the recent demon attacks. About how there has been a spike in the energy levels. And about how it was happening across all of the states.

Jace chimed in about how he took down multiple groups of demons single-handedly. It hurt how much Alec had to restrain himself from rolling his eyes.

He heard Isabelle laugh who was sitting in a chair opposite of Alec and Magnus. She clearly saw Alec struggle.

From the noise Maryse turned to face them. Originally she had been facing Jace and Clary who sat on the desk in the library.

She narrowed her eyes at the three. Her eyes widened when she looked at Magnus.

"Why is he sleeping?" She asked. Her tone sounding as unpleast as homurous.

"I'm old Maryse, I need rest," Magnus whispered. Apparently he had just woken up based off of the sleep coating his voice.

Alec smiled down lovingly at him. His eyes were still closed.

Maryse gave Alec and exasperated look. Alec only shrugged.

"Magnus you have the body of a teenager, you don't need anymore more sleep than anyone here," Maryse argued.

Magnus sighed and sat up. Maryse gave a fake smile before turning to talk to Jace and Clary again.

Magnus sat back beside Alec. "You know," he whispered leaning extremley close to Alec. "I would get enough sleep if you didn't keep me up all night," Magnus teased.

Blood rushed to Alec's face. He covered his face with his hands and tried to calm his beating heart. It didn't help that Magnus bit his ear, causing him to gasp. He quickly turned and slapped Magnus before hiding his face again.

Isabelle burst out laughing.

Alec imagined that Magnus had the biggest grin, and when he quickly looked up he noticed that he was right.

He hid his face again before his mom turned. She didn't say anything but Alec could feel her harsh glare on him. 

Magnus laughed lightly beside him before covering it up in a cough.

Isabelle stopped laughing abruptly too.

Alec couldn't stand the two at times.

"Alexander, what is the status on the Shadowhunter and Downworlder alliance?" Maryse asked, clearly annoyed at the three causing mischief.

Alec removed his hands with a sigh. "Well," was all he said.

Maryse gave an exasperated sigh. "Well? Is that all?"

"I don't know mother. Great? Magnificent? No one's died, that counts for something," Alec said sarcastically.

Isabelle snorted.

"Alec, please be serious. This is important Clave business," Maryse pleaded. Alec could practically see the smoke coming out of her ears.

"If it was important then why is the Consul not here?" Alec asked while leaning back.

He heard Jace go, "Ooh." Alec smiled at his parabatai.

"Because the Consul is a busy women, Alexander. Don't be so draft," Magnus said mimicking Maryse.

"But I don't care because I'm an angst ridden teenager that doesn't want to be here," Jace then mimicked Alec. Making his voice lower.

"I'm an adult, for your information," Alec said with a great amount of annoyance and sass.

That caused Magnus to laugh before speaking again. "You're 18. You are still a teenager," he said while leaning onto Alec.

Alec shrugged him off. "I am an adult! I can attend meetings and I'm of legal age!" Alec argued.

"Angst," whispered Jace and Isabelle at the same time. They then started laughing again.

Alec was surprised they weren't cut off by Maryse. But once Alec started looking around he noticed his mother wasn't even in the library anymore.

Ello, I have been uploading frequently. I am highkey proud of myself tbh.

Also I'm taking request. I will write it if I feel like it's something I can actually do. I love doing angst (If you haven't noticed from these oneshots).

Anyway, this is edited, I don't know why I haven't been editing my most recent stories, I just have been wanting to get them out quicker so I apologize for the grammar or spelling mistakes.

Also I'm watching Lost, I'm currently on season 1 finale, so if I wrote anything sad it's probably because I'm upset what has happened in my show tbh.
