Not even three months in and his old addictions were back.

Alec was the one that kept him away from those. The drinking. The partying. The bountiful time that he secluded himself from everyone and everything.

Catarina tried her best.

With Magnus being busy constantly he couldn't afford to be blackout drunk for too long. That's why he had his ever so helpful friend with him.

"You know, I don't remember actually allowing you to stay," Magnus yelled at Catarina who was on the other side of his loft. His words were slurred together and his vision was hazy.

"And I don't remember you ever telling me to leave." She gave Magnus a sarcastic smile.

He could see her sky blue skin and white hair as it flowed through the air as she was walking towards him.

"You need to lie down. Your intoxicated and you have a meeting at the Institute early in the morning. I don't think the Lightwoods would like that one bit."

Magnus rolled his eyes at that remark. It caused Catarina to give a disappointed sigh. "I'm not joking Magnus. They have to power to revoke you from your jobs."

"Brooklyn would fall if I was gone," he whispered while rubbing his face. Catarina's magic didn't seem to be helping. In fact he felt worse. "Is your magic defective today? Or are you purposely trying to be on my bad side?"

"You don't have a bad side. Or at least you never act dangerously, nor do you even make the first moves in fights." Magnus just gave her an indignant stare.

"Catarina. You do realize my father is literally a Prince of Hell. Therefore that makes me a Prince of Hell." Magnus was glad that Catarina used magic to make him stop because he wasn't in the mood to explain his titles and heritage.

She didn't say anything else. She just finished her healing and left. But not before threatening Magnus that if he drank anymore tonight that she would possibly kill him.

It made him happy that he had a friend like Catarina. One that wouldn't leave even when your undoubtedly the biggest pain in their immortal life.

Ragnor had been that kind of friend too. But he was always annoyed with Magnus. Magnus never understood why.

Once Cat was gone it took too much effort for Magnus to get in his own room. Catarina's spell was made to remove the alcohol from his system, but the after affects still stayed.

His whole body ached with the mix of alcohol abuse and execution from the magic. He climbed into his bed slowly, not even caring that he still had his clothes on from work.

He figured that he was tired but he felt restless. This wasn't uncommon. Everyday he would be ready to pass out but the moment he got into bed, he was ready to start the day again. Queue the drinking.

But Cat threatened him. Out of the goodness of his corrupt heart, he would obey her request.

Instead he decided to torture himself another way. He decided to remind himself of Alexander.

He grabbed his phone that had stayed on his night-table all day. He hadn't been in the mood to talk lately. And as in lately it meant the past three months.

He only talked to Alec willingly. Clients he tolerated, but still wasn't chatty. The Clave he tried to tolerate, but failed quite often. And the Lightwoods. There have been multiple times when Clary and Isabelle had to forcibly remove him from Maryse and Robert.

He sighed inwardly before turning on his phone. He was surprised that he had multiple misread messages and phone calls. He wasn't surprised that they were from Alec.
