My (Brothers) Best Friend

What's going on?

Practically the whole day I've been in
my room not wanting to do much and I've been watching Netflix.

My phone rings it's Lila then I realize tonight is her date with mark. My eyes widen she messaged me.

Lila: I'm coming over you need to see my outfit.

Me: ok see you soon.

I look at the time 5:18 she's going at 6 I think.

Five minutes later she's walking into my room makeup done and wearing cute jean shorts that have some rips and a white tank crop top.

"He said to dress casually" she tells me I smile.

"You look great" I said. Her hairs lightly curled and her makeups light also. She wearing converse also.

"Good, are you ok...you seem like you've been out of it today you didn't text me at all" she said.

"Yeah, sorry I just haven't been feeling too good" I reply it's true but not exactly I don't want to face Mason and I think I'd be awkward.

"Eh whatever" she said sitting down on the bed. "...but really what's up you seem off" she tells me I shrug.

"Nothing really just no feeling good like I told you" I lie.

"I'm your best friend, I know you better than the back of my hand" she tells me giving me a look I laugh.

"Really Lila I'm great, now have a good night with your lover boy and don't do anything I wouldn't do once again...you never know" I said.

"Yeah, yeah but what happened to you at the party last night you and Mason just left" she tells me.

"It was boring for us" I reply simply she nods.

"Well I gotta get back to my house before he arrives, I'll tell you everything later bye" she said getting up.

"Bye" I say and she left I sigh and lay back. I should go eat some food. I get up and go out. I walk downstairs and I don't really see anyone...yet. I walk into the kitchen no one thank god. I open the fridge and grab myself a water bottle at first. Then I go into the pantry and grab a bag of chips when I walk out when I do Nathan and Mason walk in. Oh god.

"Oh hey Mads" Nathan said.

"Hi" I mumble opening the chips and taking some Mason doesn't look at me he's looking down at his phone which appeared out of nowhere

"You guys aren't fighting, that's weird what's up?" Nathan asked opening the fridge and looking back at us after.

"Nothing" we both say in unison.

"Ok..." he said warily. "What's up with you guys?"

"Why would there be something up with us?" I asked.

"You just seem really off...you guys aren't being yourselves" he said sitting down.

"Why because we aren't bickering?" Mason asked Nathan nodded.

"Whatever" I mutter and as I turn my eyes meet masons and I walk out and go back up to my room. This has been a long day.

I'm back at school, it's now Monday and I'm in hell again. Lila's date went great she said they went on a picnic and now I think they're casually dating not exactly boyfriend and girlfriend cause he didn't ask yet but idk.

I sit down at the lunch table.

"Maddie, what is up with you?" Lila asked throwing a fry at me.

"Nothing is up with me I'm a perfectly fine person" I said. It's still been a little awkward with Mason we haven't talked much and people think that's weird when it's not.
