Hospital

  "Excuse me..." I shoot awake when I feel someone tap my shoulder and call me. I sit up.

"Huh, what sorry!?" I said rubbing my eyes tiredly. It's the nurse she grins at me.

"It's alright, I was just wondering, if you're ever going home and I'm about to check her vitals" she tells me.

"Oh, uh...i don't really know" i said honestly.

"What about him?" She points to Nathan.

"Probably not" I shake my head she nods.

"Maybe to school though, who knows" I shrug she laughs as she checks everything.

"She seems in pretty good condition right now" she said.

"Can I ask a question?" I asked she nods. "Will she be able to remember things when she wakes up?"

"Well, she actually wasn't hit that bad where she has lost memory so no but still unpredictable to know when she could wake up" she says and I nod.

"Yeah, ok thanks" I said she nods.

"Get me if you need anything r anything happens" she tells me and I nod in reply. I sit back in my seat. Last was like another none sleeping night because I wanted to be aware again. I rub my eyes. I really need to get home as shower change and brush my teeth. I should do that now. I get up. I hit Nathan awake he shoots up.

"Who!?" He said.

"I'm going to go home as take a shower change and brush my teeth" I tell him he nods tiredly.

"Yeah, yeah bye" he said and goes back to bed. I grab my phone and leave. Also need to grab my charger.

Once I got home I went straight to the shower and took a hot shower. Then I changed into some black jeans and a black shirt. I slip on my converse grabbing my charger and phone. I grab my leather jacket just in case and head downstairs. The tv on and I see him sitting there watching tv. Of course.

"Where are you going?" He asked still looking at the tv.

"Somewhere" I muttered.

"Where is somewhere?" He asked.

"None of your business" I replied.

"Listen kid, you're my child so it is my business got it, where are you going" he looks over here.

"The hospital, like you actually care" I roll my eyes.

"Why?" He asked.

"That is none of your business" I said and grab my keys and leave the house. I roll my eyes and leave.

On my way I get myself a coffee to wake my up some more. I haven't been asleep in the past two days barely at all.

Once I got back to the hospital I made my way back up to the ICU then I went to her room where I saw Nathan still asleep he hasn't been sleeping that much either so it makes sense.

I take a seat another day not awake. I look at her lifeless body.

I sigh and take a sip of my coffee. Maddie this is the one time you tell yourself not to be stubborn. I run a hand through my hair my eyes feel heavy but I just take a big gulp of my coffee. I pull my phone out and charger and plug it into the wall. I got a text from Lila.

Lila: how's she doing!?

Me: same

Lila: oh, okay well tell me if anything happens or any new results!

Me: k

I go off and go through somethings then I shut the phone off. I put it to the side and sit there silently staring at Maddie she's gonna be great. She'll wake up soon and everything will be fine. I get another text it's from her mom.

Allison: hey Mason! I heard you haven't went to school again.
You don't have to be staying there all day I know Nathan will but you could head to school if you'd like

Me: oh hey, it's alright I prefer to be here

Allison: ok, how is she in working right now.

Me: the same as yesterday. The nurse came in checked her vitals but nothing else

Allison: ok thanks for being there

Me: it's no probably

I shut the phone off again letting it charge. I turn to see Nathan still asleep in his chair draped along it. I see his phone dropped on the floor so I go and grab it. I look at his notifications and there's a bunch of texts from that lily girl. Why the fuck hasn't he been telling me about her? Some of the messages say.
-Hey!
-Is everything alright? How's Maddie?
-I'm probably annoying sorry, just wondering just cause you've been gone from school for like 2 days.
-are you gonna reply? Or am I that annoying
-ugh sorry!!

So she obviously likes him a lot. Just hope he doesn't ruin anything. Don't mean that in a bad way but he is kind of a player so... I put his phone next to him in the chair. I sit back with yet another sigh. Who knew I would be this bored without Maddie to be around.

"Mason...Mason!" I get called awake what's up with people and I waking me up?

"Huh?!" I open my eyes sitting up more straight and it's Allison.

"Go home and get some rest" she tells me I rub my eyes so I'm awake again.

"No I'm ok" I said.

"You've been here for 3 days" she said.

"Whatever, in good staying here" I said.

"I even sent Nathan home to rest, I think you should too" she says. I just shake my head.

"I'm actually fine, just took a little nap" I said. She gives me a look.

"Fine, if you say so." She looks at Maddie with a sad, worried face. She goes up to her and kisses her forehead "I gotta get back to work" she tells me and I nod and she leaves I check the time. So I did sleep for a while its night out. It's 9:45 but that's ok. I just go on my phone for a bit and sit there for a little as well.

Yeah I didn't have much to do but I wanted to be there just in case, who knows what could happen in a night. And I don't want her to be alone here in this hospital. I grab her hand and it's cold. I play with her fingers like I do sometimes when we're just sitting there. Her hands still soft as ever. I smile thinking about things. She's just in a coma and is gonna wake up soon. Stop being dramatic mason. Let's hope tomorrow she's awake. Because I cannot stand being without her lately.

"I love you Maddie" I muttered against the skin on her hand.
