My (Brothers) Best Friend

Tears

  I wake up to my alarm going off I shut it and rub my eyes. They still feel swollen from all the crying and I really don't wanna go to school but I should. I turn around Lila's still asleep I push her light but nothing.

"Lila, get up" I say. She slowly opens her eyes. "We gotta get ready" I tell her. I go to the washroom while she's still getting up. After that I go to my closet and grab some jeans and a white t-shirt that I tie up one corner. I slip on my converse and quickly put on some eyebrows and a little mascara and grab my bag. I sit on my bed waiting for Lila. I go through my phone.

After she finishes we leave.

When I get to school I put my things away. I turn and Luke's standing in front of me.

"Hi" he said with a big grin.

"Hey what do you need?" I asked.

"Nothing, but I need to ask what's up with Mason?" He asked.

"I don't know he seems fine to me" I mutter bitterly.

"Ok, I'll take that what's up with you?" He asked.

"Nothing" I said.

"I won't take that because you're lying to my face, what's wrong?" He asked. "Is it the thing with Nathan that's happened with you guys?" He asked. I'm kinda surprised Nathan didn't tell everyone.

"Nope not that at all, I could care less about that...but really it's nothing" I shrug.

"You're so annoying" he groans. "But I'm not gonna keep doing this if I'm gonna get the same answer" he said turning. I see there group Mason walks looking over here but he turned he's just looking down not talking or anything. Making me want to cry again. I quickly turn.

"Hey Maddie it feels like I haven't seen you in a while" Andrew comes up to me.

"Oh hey" I say.

"You okay?" He asked.

"Yeah I'm fine" I reply. "I gotta go" I say and walk past him. I feel my eyes prickle with tears but I just blink them away. I get to my class just before the bell rings. Nice masons in most of my classes. I just doodle on my things waiting for the teacher to come in. His seat is next to mine usually I hope he changes that. I look at the person next to me. It's not him it's this guy named Alex. Thank god. But I feel eyes on me and I slightly turn he's behind the Alex guy. I turn back and finally the teachers here. Please lord let me get through these classes.

The whole class I felt like someone was staring at me. Aka Mason. Like stop bro. I almost fell asleep also because last night I didn't get much sleep.

It's lunch now and I'm eating my fries. Marks sitting with us again. Lila and him talking.

"Mads, you okay?" Lila asked me.

"Just peachy" I reply I glance over at his table he's just sitting there a blank look on his face Luke nudges him he doesn't do anything. He probably would be sitting here and we would be bickering and fighting about him taking my food. I feel tears burn in my eyes. Why are those thoughts making me cry. "I gotta go to the washroom" I say they nod. I get up grab my bag and quickly go into the washroom into a stall and start to cry after I make sure no ones there.

Why is the only word that I can think of right now and I'm angry, sad, confused. What's going on. Why did this have to happen. I hear the door open and I stop crying. Well stop sobbing loud. Tears still fall.

"I actually think that bitch gets it, like I don't see her all up on Mason anymore" I hear Georgie's voice. She's talking about me.

"Yeah definitely, maybe you scared her away" her friend said.
