My (Brothers) Best Friend

Weird

I wake up my alarm going off. I shut it and go back to sleep. But then again masons not coming to wake me up I usually put my alarm on but Mason wakes me up. I open one eye scanning my room. No one. I fully get up sitting up in my bed. What's going on this is odd. I slide out of bed and go to the washroom doing my things. After I change I grab my bag and shoes and go downstairs.

"Nathan?" I call out he comes in eating a bagel.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"Lets go...and where's Mason?" I asked.

"Don't know he didn't come over this morning" he shrugs putting his shoes on.

"Weird" I mutter he nods.

"Yeah I know but he told me he's busy" he said he grabs his keys. "Lets go" he said putting his bag on his shoulder and we leave.

I'm still confused.

Once we get to school I go to my locker and put my things away. I turn and look around Mason's not here.

"Maddiiieeee" I hear Lila sing song and skip over to me.

"Hey" I said. "How was last night?" I asked.

"Great" she smiles.

"Mason's not here" I said. She looks around and smirks.

"Ooh, is someone worried about their boyfriend?" She asked.

"No it's just weird, he usually wakes me up some weird way and not this morning" I said.

"Oh, that's weird" she said I nod in agreement.

"And he isn't here I don't think" I said.

"We'll see at lunch later the bells gonna ring soon" she tells me I nod and we go to our classes.

It's lunch I sit at my table with Lila then mark sits down with us.

"Is it only you this time?" I asked.

"Don't know maybe" he shrugged.

"Is Mason here today?" I asked he wasn't in my first classes.

"No I don't think so" he replied eating his lunch. I take a bite out of my fries. I pull my phone out and text him.

Me: where are you?

I set my phone down Mark and Lila are talking. This is weird. I look at my phone no message back yet.

After lunch I went to my classes Mason still not replying to my text. Which is weird he usually replied quickly.

After school I grabbed my things and left. I go to Nathan's car he's talking to a friend. My phone buzzes.

Mason: I had something going on sorry.

Me: it's ok are you okay?

Mason: yeah. Can you meet me at the spot?

Me: yeah of course when?

Mason: now

Me: ok I'll be there soon.

"Nathan I'm gonna walk I have to do something" I tell him he looks at me confused.

"What? I can drive you" he said.

"No I'm okay it's nice out anyways I'll be home in a little" I said.

"Ok, be careful" he tells me I nod and turn and start walking out of the parking lot of the school.
