Y/n's POV
Before Snape could take care of the snake, Lockhart attempted to. He only caused it to fly into the air. Some kids awed and chuckle slightly. I only rolled my eyes, but that's when I heard someone talking. I turned my head to see who it was, but I soon found out that it was the snake talking.
Mink's POV
Everyone was slight when Harry started talking to the snake. Parker was surprised, but Y/n seemed off. I shrugged it off and looked back to Harry and the snake. I wasn't scared nor surprised, but intrigued. Did it have something to do with the scar? I was so lost in thought I didn't notice to snake caught on fire.
Some kid spoke and seconds later Harry ran off, but out of the corner on my eye I saw Y/n leaving after Harry. I grabbed Parkers arm and followed Hermione and Ron. What was wrong with Y/n? Once we caught up with them, Harry was stopped by Ron and Hermione. Y/n was their but she had a blank face. Harry's friends confronted him about being about to talk to snakes, which Harry didn't know he did.
What shocked me was when Y/n claimed that she heard the snake and understood Harry. Parker looked shocked too. When Hermione claimed this to be bad I walked out with Parker with me.
"It's not bad, just very rare. I mean they can understand snakes speaking. It's not bad," I stated. "Don't worry to much about it Harry. You neither. Okay?"
They only nodded and I smiled.
"Okay, let's go guys. We still have school," Parker stated.
They all nodded and we left.
Time Skip
Y/n's POV
I sighed and sat in the common room with Prue. I was drawing while she was reading. It wasn't long until Draco came in with his so called friends.
"Hey Prue," Draco greeted. "L/n."
"Hello Draco," Prue answered. "Did you know that one of the biggest snakes around is the Basilisk. European bestiaries and legends, a basilisk is a legendary reptile reputed to be king of serpents and said to have the power to cause death with a single glance."
I shuttered. I can handle certain snakes, but big snakes or the tiny poisonous ones. Like spiders. Tiny and deathly.
"I did know about that actually and I can't believe people think Potter is the Heir of Slytherin."
"Seriously? Just because his a parsaltounge?" Prue asked.
Draco only nodded.
"Well who ever came up with that is stupid. Potter's a tool. I can bet you anything he and his friends are going to get behind all of this," I sighed.
"Why do you say that," Prue asked.
"Because of what happened last year and he always in the middle of trouble. His a tool."
