Music filled my ears, I almost can't hear myself thinking. People were jumping, dancing, grinding, drinking, whatever stupid things young kids do.Phoenix grabbed my hand and tried to tell me something, which I couldn't hear because of how loud the music was. I realized that we were still grabbing each other's hands, so I let go quickly.
"I said don't leave my side, and don't drink anything from anyone unless it's me" He yelled, but it seemed as if he whispered considering that we're in a deafening place. Oh, I'm not drinking anything here. I saw a couple of boys opening some coke and pouring alcohol in it, then proceeding to give it to naive girls.
Poor girls, they thought these boys were nice enough to give them a drink, little did they know, the drinks were spiked.
I'm also not eating anything, I saw some weird stuff happening to a group of boys after eating some brownies. As much as I love food, I won't risk it.
Phoenix went to grab me a coke that was not spiked, he also promised that he'll stay sober because he's my ride home, I have a lot of faith in him to stay sober so I hope he doesn't let me down.
Meanwhile, I just stood there like a statue. I had no idea what to do. should I act drunk? I've seen a lot of girls do it in movies.. Then Phoenix came to me saving me from the boredom that I was experiencing.
"Let's dance sugar" He yelled and basically dragged me to the dance floor. "I can't dance Phoenix!" I tried to say that loud so he can hear me. Then went back to where I was standing.
Sweat, skin, and bodies, were all that I could see.
"What do you mean? I saw you rocking some sprinklers earlier in your room"
I wish the floor would swallow me whole right now.
I guess he felt that I got embarrassed so he said "I'm joking sugar, come on let's dance. It's a party no one will judge you. Besides, almost half of the people here are drunk" then he smiled and grabbed my hand, bringing me to the dance floor once again.
An upbeat song was playing, looking at Phoenix just dancing like crazy made me want to jump and do that too.
At first, I felt out of place. But look at me now, screaming and jumping around like there's no tomorrow. This is probably the most fun I've had since witnessing Erica fall because of her long ass heels.
A few songs later, I was done.
All I wanted to do was lay on the ground and have a foot massage.
But faith had another plan.
A slow song started playing, and couples started slow dancing to it. I stared at Phoenix then felt it was creepy so I almost left. But he grabbed my arm and brought me closer to him.
Honey you and I, we communicate through our eyes. We speak another language when our lips fail to move by.
He grabbed me by my waist and took my hand in his. I felt a bit hesitant so I kept staring at the floor, not until he put a finger under my chin and got my grey, lonely eyes to lock with his vibrant green ones.
Oh your face, is the only thing on my mind. I can't get you out no matter how hard I try.
He stared at me like I was the most beautiful thing on earth, like I was a star that fell down from the sky, and he was lucky enough to grab it.
Please, hold on. Don't leave me here alone. What if I still need you with me?
This line hurt me a lot. looking at his face, I can see how they are filled with adoration. It's just that all of this adoration might go away as soon as I go too.
I'm just a little human, who needs a little bit of your love..
I wondered what his love would feel like, will I ever have the chance to experience it before it all fades away?
The song ended and soon enough it was replaced with a Taylor Swift song, Phoenix and I just stood there in complete silence and stared at each other, smiling like goofs.
"That was hands down the best 4 minutes I've ever spent on dancing" Phoenix said, then smiled brightly at me.
Maybe that's why he's called Phoenix Brightly, because with only a single smile he can brighten up my whole day.
Or maybe because it's just his last name.
"It's getting super late Phoenix, can you drive me home?" I asked after looking at my phone. It was 3:32 a.m.
"Of course, come on let's get going" He said and I just followed him while looking down at the floor.
Eventually, he came by my side and held my hand while we walked to our ride,
I didn't let go this time.
We got in his bike, and of course, he gave me his helmet to wear it. I was tired, so I rested my head on his back while holding his torso, and watched the empty roads.
Once we reached home, he helped me out of the bike, "Today was fun, thank you" I said and smiled at him, he smiled back and nodded at me.
Phoenix was reaching to me, grabbing my cheek, ready to kiss me. Until I saw Rose sitting on my front porch. I pulled him back and took a good look of her.
She was crying.

A/N:
Hey guys,
Sorry this was a short chapter, but I feel as if even if it was short it has a big influence in Violet & Phoenix.
Also, the slow song that they danced to is not a real song. It's a song that I made up 23 minutes ago lol. I never use real songs, everything's made up by me.
Anyways, hope you enjoy!
Love,
Arabella Winters.
