Phoenix took me to a deserted land. "Is this the part where you kill me and feed me to your dogs?" I asked as we walked, well, sort of hiked our way up to one of the hills.
"No. Tell me sugar, why would I want to kill my favourite person in this world?" He asked, sarcasm showing with his statement.
"So you can feed your favourite person in this world to your dogs" I replied.
"I don't have a dog, Skyes" He said. "Then you'll probably sell my organs to the black market or something"
"Has anyone ever told you that you're a drama queen?" He asked, ignoring my last comment. "No, why?"
"Because you are one, sugar" He said, acting like it's the most obvious thing. I rolled my eyes at him and he laughed.
"We're here, come sit beside me" He said, walking ahead of me to a big rock then taking out all the food from the bag.
We finally reached the top of the hill, the view was breathtaking. It's almost sunset now, so the sky was a perfect shade of orange and red.
I sat beside Phoenix and grabbed the burger, "How do you know this place?" I asked. How could an eighteen years old boy find a place like this?
"I used to come here since I was 13. Before mom and dad got a divorce they used to fight a lot. And by a lot, I mean like every night. One time, the fight was so bad, they started throwing things at each other" His voice cracked. I wish I never asked about this place..
"So, I ran away.. pretty coward thing to do, but I was actually convinced that one of them would kill the other. I was so scared that night that I kept running and running. I reached to a place not far from here and stumbled and fell. I was literally rolling down to my death, but I didn't die.. unfortunately."
"Don't say that, Phoenix" He just shrugged it off, then continued,
"When I reached the ground I panicked, I didn't know where I was and I didn't bring my phone. So I decided to climb back up, but I went the wrong way.. after hours of climbing and walking, I found myself here. at this same exact spot" He said, pointing to the giant rock that we were sitting on top of.
"Ever since, when something happens or when I need to get away from the world for a little but, I come here. You're actually the only one that knows about this place, and the only one that I brought here"
"I'm honoured, Phoenix. I feel special already" I said, smiling a bit. It's so sweet to know that he trusts me enough to tell me about his parents and to bring me to his thinking spot. "I'm sorry about your parents, Phoenix.."
If only I was honest to him, and told him about my life..
"Enough with this depressing shit. Let's just get to know each other instead" He said, pointing a single fry to my face.
"What do you want to know Phoenix?" I asked.
"I don't know.. favourite colour?"
"Wow. what a great question" I sarcastically said.
"Just answer it" He rolled his eyes.
"Clear" I simply answered, and he laughed so loud at it.
"That's not a colour but okay, I'll take that.. your turn."
"Why do people at school treat you like you're from a deadly gang member?" I asked.
"Ahh, I don't know. Probably because I'm the bad boy of Oscars high " He answered
"Bad boys are supposed to be rude and.. well, bad. You're not like that" I answered, then handed him the milkshake. They gave us only one straw so we had to share it.
