XXIII // CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

Classes have passed and lessons are over. And soon enough the day is over.

I was avoiding Phoenix all the time, and now I only have to get through the school's building without him noticing me.

Usually, he'll wait for me with his bike, giving me a ride back home.

But considering with what Erica has told me, I came to a conclusion that I'll stay away from him. 

I thought about staying away from him at school only, and I was this close to telling him everything.. But I saw a bunch of people staring at me the minute I was on the same room as him.

So, I decided against it. I have to do it for Rose.

Also, I agreed to say 'yes' to everything for this whole day. fml.

As I was heading out of the school's gates, I caught Phoenix from the corner of my sight.

 Yep, there he was, waiting for me.

I was about to go inside the school again, but he saw me and waved. As if telling me that he's here.

Oh no, he's coming my way.

I got inside quickly, hoping that I'll find an empty classroom where I can talk with him, and no Erica follower can see us together.

He eventually followed me into an empty classroom, then said, "Why are we hiding?"

"What? I'm not hiding. I just thought that there were a lot of people outside and I need some space" I quickly thought of a lie, to be honest, this is the most believable lie that I've ever said.

"Are you okay, sugar? I haven't seen you since the second period. Are you avoiding me?" He asked. Concern and worry were shown on his face.

I feel so bad now. How many times do I have to lie to him?

"Avoiding you? No I'm not avoiding you, why would you think that ha ha h.." I said, trying to make him think that I took his last statement as a joke. Which I failed and looked like a physio laughing weirdly.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"Yes. One hundred percent sure" I answered.

He was quiet for a few seconds, until he smiled mischievously and folded his arms, "Then, go on a date with me tonight"

"I beg your pardon?" When did I suddenly turn british?

"Let me take you out on a date tonight, so that you can prove to me that you're not avoiding me" He told me. 

Oh no this is bad. What if Erica knew? She'd tell the whole school about Rose..

"Phoenix, look it's not that I don't want to but-" I tried to explain but he cut me off "You can't say no"

"Excuse me?" 

"You're finishing No. 10 today, sugar" He smirked, then I remembered about that. 

Say 'yes' for the whole day.

"Fine." I gave up and agreed to him, and he fist pumped the air like he just won a medal.

"Today at 5 p.m. Dress casual. I'll come and pick you up and we'll go on a date then we'll finish another thing from the list" 

Great..

"Great!" 

"Now, come on then, let's get you home" He said, referring to his bike that's currently waiting outside.

"I kinda want to walk home today.." 

"Okay then, let me just park my bike somewhere and walk you home, then I'll go back to it" He said, already opening the door and getting out.
