Party Wreck

"Oh my god!" Lyra screeched. "Girl it's your sweet sixteenth in just a week!" I laughed. "I know I know." Lyra stopped and grabbed my arm. "Alyssa! You know what this means right? SHOPPING!" I glared. "Oh my god seriously you don't have to do that!" Lyra playfully slapped my arm. "We're going whether you like it or not! Your birthday has got to be perfect so tomorrow at 5 I expect you outside your house we're buying all sorts of things including dresses." I replied. "Deal!"

Lyra hugged me and asked. "Would you like a ride home? My mums here." I waved at her mother and responded. "No it's okay my mum will be here soon." Lyra waved and turned halfway before saying. "Ok bye then." I smiled and replied. "Bye!"

When I arrived home all I could think about was shopping. Oh how amazing my birthday is going to be I thought to myself. Days passed by and it was the night before my birthday.

"So sweetheart it's your birthday tomorrow." Mum spoke. "Yes! I am so excited! I'm even more excited that you're letting me throw a huge birthday party! Thank you!" I replied. "Oh darling of course it's a day to remember not a day to forget!" Mum added. Dad was completely silent eating his food through out dinner I realised that dad was looking uncomfortable. "Daddy what's wrong?" I asked. "It's nothing my princess just a little tired." I looked away from dad before mumbling. "Ohh okay." I knew something was up with dad.
"Okay well I'm done here I'm going to bed goodnight mum. Goodnight dad." I hugged my mum and dad before walking upstairs into my room. When I entered my room I noticed that my phone was beeping uncontrollably. I checked my phone to notice that I have been added to a group chat with all my friends and they were all sending me happy birthday messages.

Alyssa I can't believe you're turning 16 before me😢 but I'd just like to say that I wish you the best and you are amazing always remember that! Lots of love Alison!

You buy me things and I'm buying stuff for you. You treat me well so I do the same. We've been best friends for 10 years now where did the time go? I'll always be by your side and I really do hope your birthday turns out unbelievably better than you imagined. "Oh what would I do without my friends." I softly spoke to myself. I got dressed into my pyjamas and climbed into bed pulling my covers over me. I stared round the room before drifting off into a deep sleep.

Morning came and I was ecstatic. "Oh my god! Oh my god! I'm 16 it's my birthday! Yes yes whoop whoop!" I danced on my bed screaming and shouting. Mum stormed in my room. "What's all the screaming honey I'm trying to sleep!" I slipped off my bed onto the rug and ran to mum. "I'm sorry mum but I can't help it I'm just so exited!" I screeched. "I know sweetie but don't worry I'm happy as long as you are. Happy birthday my beautiful beautiful girl." Mum stated.

I let mum hold me in her arms as I closed my eyes thanking God for letting me have such a great mother.
