I stood there for a few seconds before shaking my head and doubting that Jayden would actually want to hear my story. "I don't know... You'd probably find me crazy." Jayden lifted my head back up and replied. "You are crazy and I love that about you if I didn't I'm sure we wouldn't have grown up with each other since the age of two." I smiled. "Yes you're right you're always right thank you." Jayden returned the smile.  "My pleasure."

I took a deep breath. "So where do I begin?" Jayden moved his hand around signalling for me to just start. I took another deep breath before spilling my heart out.

"Right well it started at my birthday party where I felt royal like everything was going swift until Jackson took my breath away and for the rest of the day I spent my time with him. We bonded and I truly felt happy but I couldn't stop drooling for him and he couldn't stop teasing me. Happy. When we kissed for the second time you came in and I was a bit drunk and fighting with you I felt guilty but I didn't want to give out so I became my confident sassy self. Guilty. He calmed me down but told me he was leaving to calm my mum down. Panic. I fainted and woke in my room in the middle of the night and he soothed me. Protected. And so on. Ecstatic. Broken. Afraid. Worry. Temper. Shattered. Used. Choked up on tears. In pain. In pain. In pain.... I- I - I just-." I cut myself of as tears were pushing its way to find it's way to my eyes. The tears were now stinging behind my eyes. That's when I couldn't hold it anymore I dropped and Jayden caught me. I gripped his shirt and cried into his chest. I cried a lot. Jayden carried me to my bed and hugged me. He had his arm wrapped around me as my head was buried into his chest. Tears were rolling 1 after one 2 after one 3 after 3 and eventually I cried until I stopped stuttering for words. Jayden was there to support me through it all. He had both his arms wrapped around me and he was rubbing my back, back and fourth. There's something different about the way he soothed me. It felt different. Different to Jackson. I missed having Jayden around. He's an angel it's a miracle... A miracle because we've known each other since the age of two and we're both 16. He rubbed my back up and down stopping my shaking body then he whispered. "Shh." I could feel his hot breath on my neck.

We remained in this hugging position for a while before he asked me if I wanted some water. I nodded. Jayden being the sweet guy he is grabbed his bottle of water out of his bag and handed it to me but instead he held it up with me as my hand was shaky. It was like he was feeding me water. That was the one time in my life I truly felt protected because I had a gentleman like Jayden in my life to take care of every problem that ever existed. I closed my eyes and inhaled his cologne. It was a spicy cologne. It smelt damn good.

"Did you get a new cologne?" Jayden chuckled. "Yeah I did glad you noticed." I sniffed and smiled. "I'm practically your birth best friend of course I'll notice. I notice everything about you. The way you've gained muscle. The gorgeous new way you comb your hair. The glint in your eyes when you see me. And that sexy cologne scent that's driving me crazy..." Jayden looked at me in shock. Then I realised what I had just said.

Great big mouth Alyssa! You just did the job smoothly didn't you?!

Jayden scratched the back of his head. "Well er ...heh heh um.. Thank-k..you?" Mum saved us from the awkward silence by calling us downstairs. As if the situation couldn't get any more awkward Jackson was standing downstairs. And my heart stopped. My body froze. Jayden was behind me so he didn't realise what I was so shocked at till he looked up. "Alyssa what are you-." Jayden looked up to see Jackson. "You just couldn't keep your hands off of her could you?" Jackson asked.

"Jackson I said you could find your ring outside not inside." Jackson cocked his head. "Don't be cocky now my dear you shall wear this ring again and we shall date again in an instant." Jayden stepped in front of me and pushed me back gently. "Over my dead body." I could tell a fight was gonna start but mum saved the day yet again by walking in the room. "Now boys no fighting in my house okay? While you're here I expect you to be respectful Jayden you already know the rules here."

Jayden nodded his head. "Yes Bethany." While everyone else was trying to remain calm I couldn't help myself from starting an argument. "Jackson what are you doing here?" Jackson smirked. "My flower I'm here for you." I stepped back in front of Jayden and said. "Call me your flower again and I'll drag you out of my house by your ear." Mum was stunned. "ALYSSA! You don't speak like that to your boyfrie-." I screamed in anger all my emotions exploding. "HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND! HE WILL NEVER BE AGAIN! JACKSON IS JUST ONE OF THOSE GUYS THAT EXPECT TO GET EVERYTHING OUT OF A GIRL! HE'S ARROGANT AND COCKY AND HE STABS YOU IN THE BACK! I AM SO DONE WITH ALL OF THIS DRAMA! WHY WAS I PICKED TO BE THE DRAMA GIRL IN THE FAMILY!" And with that I ran out of the house. "ALYSSA!" Jayden called. Jayden was running after me and surprisingly he didn't stop once but I needed to. I needed to stop for a break. A break from my life...

I sat on the ground one knee up and one knee on the ground my head on my knee and my hands wrapped around my head. My long honey blonde hair fell down along with it.

Jayden's point of view

I stopped running when I saw Alyssa sitting on the ground like that. Gosh she's so beautiful even when she's in an emotional wreck. I thought to myself. I sat down next to her knowing no words needed to be said. I could tell Alyssa knew it was me by what she said. "Can't believe you haven't given up on me already." I looked at Alyssa and played around with her hair twirling it around my fingers.

"I wouldn't give up on you. We're best friends and even though I haven't experienced what you're going through before I want you to know that I'm still here for you no matter what." I looked down at Alyssa. I wish there was something I could do to make her happy again. The last thing she needs is boy drama. I miss her little giggles. I miss sharing the sweet moments with her. Then it clicked.

"Hey Alyssa!" Alyssa mumbled. "Hmm?" I held her head up and asked. "How about a picnic? You know those little picnics we used to have before all this drama. Walking on the grass, laughing, hugging then settling down to get some food in our system. I'll even pack those cheese sandwiches you love. Then maybe we can go to the park?"

Alyssa looked so happy. My heart warmed from seeing her smile. "Sure. I'd love to live the memories again." Alyssa replied. I was so blessed to have her in my life. Just sort of wish we could take a step forward. "You're a great friend Jayden." She spoke. Yup I am friend zoned.
