So Soon

"No!" I woke up. "I must've had a nightmare." I checked the time 5:43. I decided I'd just get up and turn my 6:30 alarm off. I got up and cleaned around the house. I cleaned my bedroom, the bath room, the kitchen and the living room before it hit 6:30. I went to go and take a shower. I closed my eyes and let the water rain down on me. I really needed this shower.

After the shower I got dressed and dried my hair with the hair dryer. Just as I was about to make my lunch the house phone rang. "Hello this is the Cate household how may I help you?"

"Oh hello Alyssa it's nice to hear your voice again."

"Jackson!" I cried.

"Why so shocked? You should've known I don't let my flowers go away that easily."

"What do you want Jackson?" I asked.

"You."

"In your sweet dreams." I replied.

"In my dreams I already have you and now I'm going to make them true. I never give up Alyssa. You found me attractive the day we met I'm going to make sure you find me attractive now."

"Forcing someone to like you isn't going to get you anywhere." I told.

"Well it's your choice either willingly be with me or forcefully."

Jackson hung up. "Who was that dear?" Mum asked coming down the stairs. "Wrong number." I lied. "Oh ok. Be a dear and pass me the hot chocolate will you?" I gave mum the hot chocolate and started on my lunch.

"So I hear dad told you yesterday." Mum spoke. I clenched my fists. "Yeah." Mum sipped her hot chocolate. "Oh my that's burning hot. How are you holding up then?" I rolled my eyes I'm lucky I'm not facing mum but I just lied again. "I'm fine." Mum not buying it decided to just casually tell me. "Well he left today at 3am." My heart stopped. I suddenly felt a deep pain in my chest. A lump in my throat started to form and I was struggling to even breathe. My head felt light and I felt dizzy. "No..." I managed to get out. "Alyssa..." Mum spoke.

"No! I didn't even get...get to say goodbye. ......You're just telling me this so causally! W-why did he have to leave so soon?! I...I..." I sunk to the ground and burst into tears. I hugged my knees and cried the lump in my throat is sort of beeping in my throat like a physical feeling of beeping. Have you guys ever experienced pain? And I'm not talking about your boyfriend breaking up with you. I'm talking about a pain that will infect you for life. A pain so deadly that it will tear your life apart piece by piece. Like the father you grew up with attached to is now no longer going to be around he's only going to be back for a couple days before heading off again. I bit my lip so hard to stop myself from crying that blood started to form. Or he wouldn't come home at all. "My daddy could...die." I croaked.

"Shh shhhh it's okay Alyssa." I stood up with the support of the wall. "No it's not. How are you taking this mum? This doesn't seem to affect you at all does it?!" Mums sweet face cleared in a matter of seconds. Replaced with a killer face and eyes that reflect death. "No it doesn't Alyssa. Do you want to know why?" Mum took a few steps close to me and I turned my body position and took a few steps back. "Oh hush dear. I didn't expect you to see this side of me so soon. You see I'm not your mother. Didn't you ever realise that we don't have your birth certificate? And Chase is not your father." This news petrified me and if that wasn't enough Bethany just picked up a kitchen devil knife. "You see Alyssa you're so stupid you've been living in dream land ever since you turned 16. You didn't even stop to think why we let you go out every night did you? No you didn't." Bethany walked closer to me and I stepped back. "We needed to distract you. Because didn't you ever wonder where these marks in the ground came from?" I watched as Bethany moved the rug over and opened the wooden floor.

And what I saw next was going to scar me for my entire life. I'll never be the same again.
