An Invitation

After the shower I said my goodbyes to Jayden and thanked him for saving me and also taking me out on a picnic. "No problem Alyssa anytime." I hugged Jayden and then we pulled apart staring into each other's eyes. "Well I better get going." Jayden spoke. "Yup you don't want to be too late going home." I replied. "Eh mum doesn't come home till 10 anyway and it's 8 so I'm cool." I smiled at Jayden. "Okay then well goodbye." I spoke. Jayden leaned down and planted a kiss on my cheek. "Goodbye Alyssa..."

I was bouncing up and down everything inside me was about to burst. I swear I'm dreaming because I've never had this much luck in my life before. Jayden kissed me. I replayed the moment a million times in my head. Then I drifted off to sleep.

The morning came and I was in a seriously good mood. I got ready and bounced down the stairs I was about to go out and see Jayden when. "Alyssa! Come here please!" Ugh it was mum. I walked into the kitchen looking as innocent as possible. "Hello my darling." Darling? Is mum in a good mood? "Hey mum." I greeted. "I received a letter today from your school. It says:

To the parents of
Alyssa Cate

I am pleased to tell you that your son/daughter is invited to attend a after school party on June the 23rd due to extremely good behaviour through out the school year. The party is a black tie party so please wear something smart and appropriate and I look forward to seeing your son/daughter at the celebration party.

Thank you and a very well done to your child.

"Well done my baby girl!" I looked at mum puzzled. "How can this be? I was just suspended." I asked. "Well obviously they wrote and sent this before you were suspended it just takes a while to arrive. Also you're going back to school on Monday." I took the letter out of mums hands and scanned it making sure it was really me. "Wow..."

"Well done Alyssa you make me so proud." I looked up at mum and asked. "Even after getting suspended for brutally beating my ex best friend till she bled?" Mum glared at me. "Don't ruin the moment and don't push it!" I laughed. "Okay okay well I was just going to see Jayden so I'll ask if he got one too then maybe we can go shopping together for outfits."

"Oh look at my baby girl growing up so fast. Oh my princess you're going to make me cry." I hugged mum. "Awe mum it's okay." I stayed with mum for a few minutes just chatting then I was off to see Jayden. The school had two inset days this week which is today and tomorrow which means we get a 4 day week end or for me a 7 day week end.

I skipped off to Jayden's house replaying the moment he kissed my cheek or when he had his hands around my waist or when he kissed my head. I bit my lip to stop myself from glowing too much.

As I was walking I heard footsteps behind me. I turned round to see who was there but there was no body. I continued walking listening out very carefully for footsteps. Then I reached Jayden's house.

I knocked on the door and Jayden's mother answered. "Alyssa! How wonderful to see you! I haven't seen you in so long how are you?!" I laughed at the excitement in Jayden's mums voice. "I'm good Brianna how are you?" Brianna took my arm and pulled me inside. "Oh how wonderful for you to ask I'm good I just need to get my manicure done I'm thinking blue or maybe I should go with yellow?" I sort of cringed from yellow. "How about red to match your outfit?" I asked. Brianna had a huge glint in her eyes. "Of course yes! Thank you my dear and Jayden's upstairs." I thanked his mum and ran upstairs into Jayden's room.

When I entered I saw him lying on his bed he was watching TV and from the reflection of the mirror it looked like videos of us when we were little at Lyra's birthday party. "Oh someone's missing the good old days." I spoke. Jayden smiled. "Yeah it's good to see you round my house for a change. How are you?" How am I? I am so hyped up from the fact that you kissed my cheek. My cheeks burned red. "Well?" Jayden spoke. "How are you?"

I stood there stuck for words. "Good?" I managed to get out. Jayden smiled at me and tapped a spot on his bed signalling for me to come and watch too. We watched loads of old videos and after that I was feeling lazy and tired. "Jayden how did you get all of these?"

"Well I guess you never noticed but all these years my mum has been recording everyone's birthday party but this year my mum couldn't make it to yours so Anna recorded and I guess...I guess that didn't go so well huh?" I shot up. "Seriously? Who cares! Anna's always been the one to be jealous anyway maybe she might be jealous because I got an invitation to the after school celebration party and I was hoping you did too?" Jayden looked at me his face expression saying what. "Come downstairs we'll ask your mum."

Me and Jayden walked downstairs into the kitchen and I asked. "Brianna, you didn't get a letter for Jayden in the mail today did you?" Brianna's face lit up. "Yes! Yes! I did! Oh my goodness I almost forgot! Here you go Jayden read it I'm so proud of you!" Jayden took the letter from his mothers hands and raised an eye brow. I peeked at the letter and before even reading the first full sentence I screamed and jumped up in joy. "Woah! Alyssa! Calm down! What is it?!" Jayden panicked. "Yes! Yes! Yes! YOU'RE INVITED! We can go shopping together! Yippee! Yay! Oh my gosh! We have to get the most expensive good looking outfits and-." Jayden raised a hand. "Slow down Alyssa look this letter says I'm pleased to tell you that your son/daughter is a very good student but not good enough to come to the after school celebration on June the 23rd sorry." I looked Jayden dead in the eye. "LIES!" I screamed. And Jayden and Brianna burst out laughing. "Oh my god! I'm crying tears of laughter. I'm crying!" Jayden cried.

I put my hands on my hips and bent down over Jayden as he was lying on the ground laughing. "Very funny but I get it if you don't want to be the star of the party. I never should of came. I'm sorry...bye." All the laughter stopped and there was dead silence. I slowly walked towards the door I had my hand on the door handle before Jayden got up and yelled. "Wait!" He put a hand on my shoulder and I knew this was when to strike. I turned round with a huge grin on my face. "HAH! Who was fooled now! Hahahahaha! I FOOLED YOU!" I screamed laughing and laughing at Jayden's face expression. Brianna laughed along with me. "Oh Alyssa you're so funny I'm so glad you and my son are best friends."
