Jackson's point of view

I held Alyssa in my arms tightly. It might be the last time I ever get to do so. If I waited any longer to enter the house she would've died for sure. I am disgusted that nobody took note of what was going on here. Could nobody hear the screams? The state Alyssa's in was making me furious. I clenched and unclenched my fists. My blood boiled. Alyssa was so innocent. She didn't deserve any of this and now within what a month or two? She's about to die. I kept checking her pulse to make sure she's here. Sometimes I can't feel her pulse and I get scared. But her pulse is weaker than before I fear she's close to...death.

After 5 minutes of waiting and trying to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation I finally saw bright red and blue lights flashing towards me. I cringed from how bright the lights were but I still cradled Alyssa in my arms. I need her to stay with me I need her to be strong and fight death. "Police! Don't worry young man we're here to help." Two men jogged towards me and took Alyssa out of my arms, I started to panic. "N-no! Alyssa! No! Don't take her away from me!"

The police officers all spoke at once. "Calm down." "It's okay." We're here to help." "Can you tell us your name?" "What exactly happened?" I zoned out I could see all these faces talking to me but all I was focused on was Alyssa. Watching the ambulance workers every move. I watched as they carried her into the back of the van and drove off with loud sirens. That's what snapped me back to reality.

"She's in there." Was all I said. I didn't even hear half of the questions they were asking me but all I needed to say was that. And when they entered that was already enough evidence to arrest Bethany. Unfortunately I still got interviewed. Some of the questions they asked me were. "What's your name?" "Your phone number?" "Is this your house?" "Can you tell me what happened? What you saw?" "Who is that girl that you were carrying?" "And what happened to her?" "Who is the woman inside the house?" "Is she the one who caused all of this?" "What did you hear for you to waltz in on them?" "What did you see and do when you walked inside?" "I need to know your every move don't summarise it for me I need details!" "Thank you Jackson for co-operating with us." "Would you like to sit in the back of the police car and we'll take you to the hospital?" "Don't worry nothing's going to happen to you."

Yes. Lots of questions. It lasted about 20 minutes before I couldn't take it anymore I needed to know Alyssa's condition. Thankfully that's when the questions ended. I jumped in the back of the car and got driven to the hospital. As soon as I arrived I sprinted towards the front desk and asked to see Alyssa Lucy Paylor/Cate. "Room 204 thank you!" I burst into the room to see that they were using defibrillator paddles on her. I could hear them saying. "Clear!" But then I could also hear doctors crowding me saying. "Sir I need you to step outside. We need to work." I barged through the doctors and watched Alyssa. The state she was in hurt me truly. I could physically feel the pain through my stomach, up to my throat, causing a lump to form and tears to trickle down my cheeks.

For a second I thought I saw her take a deep breath and come back to life but it must've just been me. 2 minutes later the doctors lost hope. And I heard them say. "Time of death 8:39."
