11th Page: Jealous?

PRISM'S POV

Only when I turned off the engine did I feel the uneasyness building up inside me. But if my face was an indication, I didn't show any signs of it. I kept my straight face, and wore the mask I always had. I entered the school building, and made my way to my locker. The nervousness became worse when I saw Wyatt standing by my locker, hands in his pocket, clearly waiting for me to arrive. He was looking at the opposite direction, so he didn't see me at first.

After taking a deep breath, with a straight face, I walked towards him.

"Wyatt."

He heard me, making his head turn. He let out a smile. Just a smile, nevertheless, it always made my heart flutter.

"Finally, andito ka na. Welcome back," he stated. I opened my locker, and took out my books, before closing it again. "Glad to be back," I said, sarcastically. Instead of making a sarcastic remark as a reply, he chuckled, making me raise my eyebrow at him, "You're in a good mood," I said.

"Wala namang dahilan para maging bad mood ako," he replied. I didn't answer, and just looked at him. "Ako na," he stated, reffering to the books in my hands. I hesitantly gave it to him, before making my way to our classroom, with him tailing behind me.

For the first time in years, I let out a real smile. I couldn't help it. Getting away from him means he'll be safe and away from trouble. He shouldn't be involved in this, but even though I knew it's the right thing to do, I knew I can't make myself not to be with him. I crave for his presence, yet I also crave for his safety. The smile faded in my lips, and the next thing I knew, I was standing infront of our classroom door, not moving.

"Wala kang balak...buksan 'yung pinto?"

Hearing his voice made me go back to reality. I forced my hand to hold the door knob, before finally opening the door. As expected, half of the class weren't still present, since it was still early. I intentionally left the house early, hoping to have some time alone, but I guess I couldn't really run away from him.

He placed my books on my armchair, and sat on his seat. I sat down, hoping he wouldn't talk to me anymore, but the hopes all went down, when he suddenly called my name.

When I turned around, I expected him to have his usual happy face, but surprisingly, he looked nervous and flustered. So I couldn't help, but ask what's wrong.

"What's the problem?" I asked him. It seemed like he didn't expect me to ask, because if his face was an indication that he was nervous, it was pretty obvious.

"Uhh.." he trailed off, scratching the back of his neck, "Free ka ba..this weekend..?"

I was surprised, but I tried so hard to keep my face straight, "Why?"

"There's this new restau---"

"Goodmorning, guys!" Kai suddenly barged in the room, stopping him in mid-sentence.

Instead of getting annoyed, I somehow felt thankful and relieved, 'cause I knew where that question was heading to. And if it wasn't for Kai, my heart would be fluttering by now, hearing him ask me out.
