SHE'S THE MAFIA PRINCESS
13th Page: Messed Up Feelings

Prism's POV

I looked at myself in the mirror, completely admiring how good I look wearing the dress Pinky picked out for me to wear, and how my face suits perfectly well with the way my hair was tied up in a half-do. I was also wearing light make-up, which was very unusual since I was never a fan of cosmetics, but Pinky forced me to wear some, telling me that it's important to look your best in a date. I was also wearing a pair of heels, but even though I wasn't used to it, I still managed to walk, despite the multiple inches.

To sum it all up, I looked beautiful.

A smile made it way to my lips as I stare at my reflection in the mirror. Behind me was Pinky who mirrored my expression. She was completely satisfied with what she called her masterpiece.

"Shems. Ang ganda mo talaga, Princess. Nakakagigil," she stated, "I'm just sad that you're going on a date with someone else, and not Andrew."

The smile on my lips faded at the mention of his name, remembering that I was going on a date with someone else rather than him.

I sighed, "It will still be fun," I said, trying to lift up the atmosphere, "Besides, it's better this way. The closer I am to him, the closer he gets to danger. So--"

Through the mirror, I can see her raise her eyebrow at me, and crossed her arms. It made me stop in mid-sentence. Her face was filled with different negative emotions.

"To be honest," she said, "I'm disappointed."

I turned around, and faced her with my forehead creased, "Why?"

"Because I thought you'd be smart enough to choose the right person. But then again, I'm not in the place to say anything or judge your decisions since it's your feelings, not mine. Pero sana naman, Princess, kahit ngayon lang, isipin mo rin 'yung sarili mo. Hindi lang 'yung kapakanan ng iba. I know you like Andrew. I can see it all over your face. Hindi na nga ako sigurado kung like nalang ba 'yan e. And alam kong kaya mo 'to ginagawa, kasi you're worried about his safety. But also think about how would he feel! And how would you feel! Hindi lang puro sakripisyo at bigay, Prism. Matuto ka rin sanang tumanggap."

Her statement rendered me speechless. Gone was the bubbly Pinky I knew. Her face was really serious, and she meant every word she said.

After that, she left. I was left there alone, letting her words sunk into my mind. I tried to understand what she meant, but even though how many times I try to come up with a contradiction to what she said, I couldn't come up with anything. After letting out a frustrating sigh, I decided I was ready, and left the room.

When I arrived downstairs, I saw them playing UNO in the living room. Every single one was there, except for Pinky. She was nowhere to be found.

I erased the negative expression in my face, and faked a smile.

They all felt my presence, because as soon as I stepped inside the living room, their heads all turned to me.

"Wow," I heard Kaylyn said under her breath. They all stood up, and looked at me from head to toe.

"Ikaw pa rin ba 'yan, ate?"
