Natalie smiled to herself as the dream faded away and the sun shone through the room. The nightmare had turned amazing when the dark angel came to the rescue. A true fairytale ending! Every girls dream. She slowly let her eyes adjust to her room before she froze, not recognizing her surroundings. Dust covered every surface and as she looked up towards the ceiling, she spotted a gaping hole in which the sun was streaming through. She started to shake her head back and forth. 'No, it was just a dream. It had to be.'
"Don't freak out!" The guy's voice was smooth with a rough undertone to it. Her head snapped to the corner where a figure stood in the shadows. 'Just a dream.' She repeated to herself as her mind refused to take in everything she was seeing. 'Just a small, tiny dream.' She started to feel dizzy, disoriented.
"No. No. Not again! Stay awake, damn it!" He was by her side in an instant.
Her eyes grew wide as she got a good look at him up close. He was more handsome than her dream. Had to be a dream! His eyes weren't a mismatch of black but one was the lightest blue while the other was the brightest green she had ever seen. His face hovered over hers and she leaned back slightly bothered by the intrusion. Very cautiously, she reached and lightly touched his face. It felt so smooth. "You feel so real." She whispered to herself, refusing to believe what was right in front of her. There were no wings to be seen, he was wearing a black shirt and dark jeans. Just a dream.
He laughed, grabbing her hand from his face and laid it back on the bed she was still laying on. "I am real." He simply stated. His fangs gleamed as he chuckled. She couldn't help but stare at his beauty.
'Wait.' She thought about what he said. "You're real?" She asked unconvinced.
"Yes." He simply stated. "I'm not going to tell you again, human."

"Oh shit!" He watched as her eyes rolled into the back of her head once again. He looked her over quickly and then scoffed to resume his pacing that she had disturbed. The woman thought it was all a dream. He scoffed to himself. She was about to wake up to a nightmare. He was feral. Ruthless. He wasn't nice. He didn't smile or laugh. The only laughing matter was the fact she thought she dreamed him up. Some imagination she must have.
The woman groaned and he paused in his steps to look towards her. "Fiddlesticks." She murmured, before checking the room once more. This was going to be a long day.
"Do you plan on fainting again?" He spoke in a clipped tone, he didn't want to keep having this conversation over and over again. It was a waste of time. "If so, then just get to it."
She went from staring down at her hands, to snapping her head up and looking at him with wide eyes. Her mouth hung wide open and she was gasping like a fish out of water. What was wrong with this woman?
"You.. you're real!" She stuttered, pointing her finger at him accusingly.
He looked down at himself for good measure before giving her a, you're kidding me, look. "No shit!" He grumbled.
He watched as she quickly stood up from his makeshift bed and settled her hands on her hips. "That's not nice language!"
His eyes narrowed as he tried to figure out if this woman was serious or not. When she didn't budge and just started at him as if she was waiting for something, he sneered. "Good thing I don't give a fuck then."
Her mouth dropped open again before she huffed to herself and turned towards the bed. "Well I'm just going to go home now. Thanks for saving me!" She spoke with her back to him as she picked up the blanket and started to make the bed. The woman had serious problems.
"You're not going anywhere." He gritted out.
She froze slightly before slowly turning towards him and smiling. Smiling! "And why is that?" She spoke slowly and precisely, all the while keeping the stupid smile in place. What kind of psycho was he dealing with here?
"First off, you really think that Cole character is going to let you off the hook for whatever you saw?" Her smiled wavered a bit, but she kept it firmly in place. "Secondly, you've seen me. Can't have you running off and blabbering."
She thought to herself for a moment. Her eyebrows scrunched up and her nose wiggled.
"You look like a mouse." He said without thinking.
"Excuse me?" She asked as her eyebrows shot up.
"I said you look like a fucking rodent. When you think, you scrunch your eyebrows and wiggle your nose. A mouse." He seethed not liking explaining himself to a damned human.
Laughter bubbled out of her mouth, making him cover his ears. "Stop!" He almost whimpered. The noise, it was too much. His ears felt like they were bleeding. He had been alone for far too long and couldn't stand the intensity of it.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry!" The woman said regrettably. A hand lightly touched his arm and he flinched. "I didn't mean to hurt you!" She quickly snatched her hand back but took another step forward. Her eyes were wide and filled with regret. "Is there anything I can do?" Her lips pulled into a pout and he felt a growl push up his throat.
"Stop talking!" He snapped. She didn't jump from his tone, didn't even seem to register the threat within it. She only smiled, nodded and then turned back to finish making the bed.
Looking off in distance, he tried to think what to do with her once more. He needed her gone, but he couldn't have her ratting him out. One person knowing about him was bad as it was but no one would probably believe Cole. Having two people though could make a difference. Maybe he should just kill her and get it over with.
He felt the beast within rise. He clenched his fist, willing it to stop. He didn't understand. The beast had always wanted the kill. Loved it. They both did. He glared towards the woman who was now sitting on the bed staring off into space. He fought for control over the monster once more. Fighting the creature had never been so hard. It didn't make sense. They loved the thrill of hunting, needing to feel flesh rip under their claws. The kill was the most enjoyable, sinking their teeth in the victim, feeling life drain away piece by piece until the body fell limp. The control over when the person or animal dies; to end it quickly or drag it out. It was all a game, one the beast enjoyed the most.
'Fuck it.' He thought. 'The woman needs to die.' As soon as that thought crossed his mind, a growl vibrated the building. One he didn't let loose. He felt his body shake, vibrate and seize. The world tilted on its axis and his vision went dark. For the first time in his life, the beast inside had taken full control.
