She hated running. If she could, she would never run again. Pure adrenaline kept her going through, just like the first time. How did this even happen? How did Austin not see? Or was this his way of getting rid of her? The car had been tampered with. She didn't know what exactly had been done or where, but she did know one for sure. She was in trouble. She had been driving when it felt like her tire was flat. She went to pull over when she realized the big problem; her brakes weren't working. She had coasted for a little bit, trying to get closer to Austin. Once she saw a huge dip coming up, she knew she had to stop. If she didn't, then she would catch speed and the wreck would be worse. So she readied herself, then turned and ran straight into a tree. The car was totaled. The airbag had deployed though, so she had nasty headache. But that wasn't the worst of it. No, the worst were the men that had been following her. She knew something had been off about the man from the supermarket. He gave her the creeps. The way he had looked at her like she was a piece of meat. He showed up right after she crashed, asking if she needed help. He had an evil smirk and that's when she knew. She tried to be nice like always and told him no. That didn't work, he had swung her door open and forced her out of the car. His grip had been so tight, it felt like he broke her arm, forcing a scream past her lips. Once he let her go though, she turned, kicked him in the shin and then took off for the woods.
She knew they were chasing her. She could hear them yelling. Taunting her. "Come out, come out. Where ever you are."
It was creepy. She was surrounded by trees in an area she knew nothing about. She wanted to scream Austin's name at the top of her lungs but didn't want to give her position away. Heck, she didn't even know if Austin would come. For all she knew, he was behind the whole thing. He had said he knew people that would get rid of her, and the way it was looking at the moment, he would succeed. She just didn't understand why he would make her go with him, just to kill her. It didn't make sense. Her angel was the only answer. Maybe the beast wouldn't let him. Tears started to sting her eyes. She started running faster, she needed to get away. Had to, her life depended on it.
Arms wrapped themselves around her waist. She screamed as the guy picked her off her feet. She kicked and flailed until she felt a wet tongue run across her ear. "Gotcha!" She was going to puke!
"Austin! Austin!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.
A guy she had never seen before came into her line of sight. The punch that hit her was so quick she barely had time to see it coming. The man threw his head back and laughed. "No one can hear you out her, sweet cheeks."
"Tony, grab her from behind." The guy from the supermarket brought her elbows behind her and latched his arms through. She used the momentum to life her legs and kicked the guy in front of her.
"Stupid bitch!" He spat.
"Let me go!" She screamed, thrashing. "Austin!" She tried again, only to be slapped.
"He won't save you." The guy gave her an evil smile.
"You're wrong!" She spit the blood from her mouth on his face.
Austin wouldnt leave her out here. If anything, he was probably thinking of ways to kill her himself, thinking she tried to run away. Which honestly, did cross her mind. She could just take his car and go. Maybe he would try to find her, or maybe he'd consider that she had done him a favor. He would be looking for her. She had to believe that. Her angel would come. He had to. He was the only hope she had.
"I won't save you!" She yelled as the man wiped the blood from his face.
He just glared before taking a step forward, reaching a hand towards her. He wrapped his hand in her shirt and pulled, ripping it from her body. "Austin." She whimpered, getting more scared than ever. At least with Cole, it would have been a quick death. This this was worse.
A loud growl echoed through the forest, making the guys freeze on the spot. The hands that had been groping the front of her body froze. The body that had been grinding behind her stopped. A laugh bubbled up out of her throat. She couldn't stop. She just kept laughing. She was becoming hysterical. He came! Whether Austin was going to kill her or his beast was going to save her, it didn't matter at that point. At least she wouldn't be taken advantage of. The guy, Tony, quickly let go of her, sending her crashing to the forest floor. She was still laughing. Tears were streaming down her face, but she couldn"t stop.
"I'm out of her Rob. Do what you want." Tony panicked while turning to run.
The trees trembled and the ground cracked as the beast landed right in front of him. She looked up, and laughed once more. She was saved!
Tony screamed like a little girl, turning to run. Her angel grabbed a hold of him. Lifting him up. He then turned his eyes to her and spoke for the first time. "Natalie. Turn around." His voice was everything she dreamed of and more. Her jaw hit the ground.
"Yyou spoke, and you called me by my real name." She stuttered. He growled at her, giving her a clear view of his fangs. Tony screamed again, while Rob stood frozen in shock.
"Turn around, and cover your ears." She knew he wasn't joking. She also knew there was nothing she could do to stop him and didn't know if she wanted to. He was everything Austin said he was. He was a monster; a beast. He was hunter. He killed, and enjoyed it. And he was her angel, her saving grace. She did as instructed.
She turned around, squeezed her eyes shut, and threw her hands over her ears. This was wrong. She knew that. She was a good person, and hated herself for not feeling as bad as she should. This was murder. She had never hurt anyone before, but those men had been willing to take everything from her. They had set her up. She wanted to think that they didn't deserve what was going to happen to them, but then again, whose lives were Austin saving? Whose purity was he keeping in tack? Hers for one. Not only purity but sanity as well. Those men would of taken those away from her. Her happiness. Her carefreeness. She didn't move a inch. She was scared; not of Austin, but of the noises she would hear. She knew he would kill them, but didn't want to hear the screams or pleading.
She screamed as she felt arms wrap around her. As soon as soft wings encased her though, she relaxed. And then cried as they took off into the sky. She didn't cry because of the flying, she cried because of the relief she felt wash over her. The wind was chilly on her skin, but she didn't mind. She didn't pay any attention to the fact that they were so high, she wouldn't be able to see the ground. She focused on the fact that she was alive, and she was safe for the moment. She focused on the fact that her angel would never let harm come to her, if it was possible to avoid. And she tried to think of a lie to tell Austin when he gained back control. He would want to know what happened just like that morning. She hadn't decided if she would tell the truth or not. The truth was he had saved her, even if he didnt want to.
