Chapter 9:
"What's going on down there?"Ron asked from on top.
Harry tried to speak but no words left his mouth.
Ron said something else that Harry didn't hear, but the next thing he knew Ron was laying on top of him in the car. It broke Harry out of his daze. Ron got off and sat next to him in the backseat. He followed Harry's gaze and gasped as Harry did.
"Lightwood?" he asked in barley a whisper.
Harry still just sat there, not believing it.
"Is he dead?" Ron asked as if he didn't want to know the answer.
"I...I don't know," Harry somehow found his voice.
He leaned forward and went to examine him more closely. His red eyes were dazed and unfocused. He was still as a tree. He showed no sign of life or that anyone had stabbed him. But he defiantly looked dead. His face was a pale white and his knuckles were clenched onto the steering wheel.
"Yeah he's defiantly dead," Harry stated and he couldn't stop himself from cringing while saying it.
Ron looked confused. His voice was in utter disbelief when he asked "Who would do this to him?"
Harry took a deep breath. He knew he would have to tell him eventually but he really did not think he would have to do so in this scenario.
"Last night I saw him at the three broomsticks," Harry began.
Ron looked shocked. "When?"
Harry looked out the window, trying to get Lightwood out of his peripheral vision. "I thought i saw a figure so i followed it. It was when i said i had to go to the bathroom."
Ron's mouth formed an O. "Oh so that's where you went."
Harry nodded. "Yeah and it did not turn out too well."
"What did he say," Ron asked as if this were the most interesting thing he had heard all day.
"Nothing much really. He didn't look very well. He was trying to warn me of something. He kept saying that the dark times weren't over," Harry said.
Ron looked at him, "Why didn't you tell me?"
Harry shrugged, "I didn't want to worry you."
Ron scuffed,"Yeah because telling me right now in front of his murdered body is a lot less worrying."
"Look I'm sorry but we need to find out the real reason why all of this is happening. Lightman knew something and they killed him," Harry said.
"What makes you think that?" Ron asked.
"Well obviously he found something and he tried to warn me about it but he couldn't because he knew they were going to kill him if he spilled. But jokes on him, they killed him anyways."
Ron looked slightly paler, if possible. "Who do you think "they" is?"
Harry felt fear overtake him as he said what scared him the most. "I have no idea."
Ron looked queasy. "So it's the killing curse?"
"Yes it is."
"What do we do with the body?"Ron asked.
"I don't know but i do know that we can't tell anyone about this," Harry said.
"Why?"
"Because i don't think we can trust anyone until we figure out what's going on," Harry answered simply.
"Then what are we supposed to do?"Ron asked.
Harry thought a moment before saying,"We bury it. Far away and we do not tell anyone that this happened".
Ron nodded.
"We do know one thing though,"Harry added.
"What?"
"Whoever killed him planed on no one finding him."
