Chapter 15:

The door opened and Harry prepared himself to throw a spell at the intruder. Ron next to him, stepped back and drew his wand, pointing it directly at the door. But the person that walked in surprised them both.

Just as the intruder stepped inside Harry and Ron both yelled, "Stupify!"

Ron's spell missed by an inch and bounded off of the wall next to the door.

Ron ducked down to avoid getting hit by his own backfired spell. "Bloody hell-" he said as he threw his arms over his head.

Harry, however, knew that his had his his target when he heard the soft thud of a figure falling motionless to the floor. He walked closer to the limp body and stepped back.

"Ginny?" Harry asked in disbelief.

His wife laid petrified on the floor.

"What is she doing here?" Ron asked, having stood from his crouched position and joined Harry.

"I have no idea," Harry said, "but I don't have time to wonder why.

He handed the brooms to Ron quickly, "Take these out of here and hide them. I'll bring Ginny back."

Ron nodded and left quickly looking over his shoulder, to make sure no one was behind him as he left.

Harry felt bad for hiding this from Ginny but he had no other choice. Things were not right anymore. Ever since last night when they had seen Lightwood, Harry had a bad feeling inside of him. He had to wait before telling Ginny anything. At least until they knew what was happening in the wizarding world. Not to mention if the ministry ever found out what he and Ron did last night, they would fire him for sure.

Once Ron was clearly gone, Harry lifted Ginny. He placed her on the wall opposite of him. Feeling guily, he soundlessly muttered the counter spell.

Ginny took a deep breath as she felt the spell wear off on her body.

"Ahhhhh," she said gasping for air.

"Harry?" she asked realizing his presence. Her voice was a mixture of confusion and slight annoyance.

"Ginny," Harry answered her. He leaned down to help her stand up. "Are you okay?"

She nodded slowly.

"I think so," she said sitting up and rubbing her forehead. "Was I stunned? Did you stun me?" her voice was defensive and slightly angry.

Harry hesitated before nodding. "Um...maybe sort of. But it was completely unintentional I promise. I just thought...that you were someone else."

Ginny raised an eyebrow. "Really? Who'd you think I was?"

Harry felt panic arise in him, realizing his mistake.

"No! No one. Just an intruder or something. I don't know I guess I'm still paranoid from Voldemort days. I''m sorry," he finished, justifying that what he said was not not true.

Ginny reached out and touched Harry's arm in a comforting way. "Oh Harry. We all are. It's fine. I'm fine, it was just a stunning spell. Next time maybe try to wait a second or two before you stun your girlfriend though."

She was smiling so Harry put on a small smile himself, to make it look like everything was okay.

"How did you find me here?" Harry asked, clearing his throat, eager to change the subject.

"Well I thought that last night we left it a little bit tense, you know? So I came o tell you that I'm not mad at you anymore or disappointed or anything. You know it has been such a hard time for all of us and right now we shouldn't be fighting," Ginny explained.
