Chapter 28:

His head hit the ground hard and he lay flat on my stomach. His glasses flew off and he was meet by the familiar blindness he had gotten the pleasure of facing. He reached around for them but his hand got stuck, like glue, in a puddle of mud beside him.

Harry lifted himself slowly upward tugging on his hand that was now deep in the mud pile.

He looked around him and realized that he was surrounded by mud everywhere. There were mud puddles surrounding him like a fence so he wouldn't' the able to get out.

"Great", he mumbled sarcastically to himself.

With his free hand he reached randomly fo rip his glasses and finally caught them only a little way away. He clasped them onto his face and looked around him trying to make sense of where he was. It was dark and there was only utter blackness above him so he wasn't sure if he was inside or not.

His heart hammered to the beat of a drum inside him as he searched around this unfamiliar place the maze had taken him to.

He reached for his wand and whispered, "Lumos".

The light filled up the dead aroma a tiny bit. Harry pointed his wand at the mud puddle that his hand was still stuck to, "Reducto", he said quietly hoping it would make less noise. The mud spread apart as it burst leading Harry to be able to slip his hand out quickly before the mud closed itself back up again.

He lifted himself to his feet and looked around him. There was no way to go around the lined mud puddles as they had all formed some sort of circle around him.

Harry quickly without thinking used the same spell he used to free his hand. The mud puddles burst for only a second but Harry used that as a chance to go and leaped through the puddles barley quick enough.

He didn't look back at the puddles once he had gotten out and just kept running around. A wall apparently it had been closed right behind Harry though, cutting Harry off from the mud as quickly as he stepped a foot away. Harry jumped up startled as the wall appeared almost cutting him in half.

His breathing was off pase as he made his way down an endless blackness. He tried to venter off to the side and look for some sort of wall that would led him to a secret pass way somewhere but nothing happened. He was just walking through open blackness and there were no end or walls.

He had been walking for an hour at the least when he spotted light ahead of him.

He took off in a run making his way to the light but it seemed that the light did not what him to reach it. It was as if Harry was just running in place as if on a treadmill but he knew that he was moving.

Harry finally stopped running and he was greeted by a spotlight on him.

Harry looked up at it but did not see where it had come from.

"Hello?", he asked around hoping for an answer but he knew he wouldn't get one.

The spotlight slowly though, Harry noticed was getting brighter. It actually was begging to sting him, "ow", Harry declared as the light started stinging him harder. Harry started to move away from the burning light but it followed him. Harry took off in a sprint randomly trying to get away from the light. He raised his arm and shot a spell squarely at the sky hoping he had hit something. The light slowly died out once he had done this. Harry breathed a sigh of relief and continued.

Was Ginny here? He finally asked himself wondering, that he had to find her to take her out of this terrible place. But he couldn't think much more into it because at that very moment a bat swished down from nowhere. Harry barley had time to duck from the bat.

He looked confused at it but then suddenly he felt the presence of something else. He snapped his head back around and just at that very second a swarm of bats hurtled themselves at Harry. Harry ducked and covered his head as he ran away from the chasing of bats.

He threw curses at them left and right randomly as he ran past them.

Some were shot down he could tell but he could also tell that the majority of the bats were still alive and chasing him. Harry ran left and right as they started to slowly catch up to him.

They were about a foots distance from him when a cold, unhuman like hand reached out and grabbed Harry by the shirt and through him into a deserted room.

Harry reached around for this person and pointed his wand at them and said, "Stupidfy", rather lamely.

The person set him down quickly and for a moment Harry actually thought he had hit him but then it said, "Hey watch where you are pointing that".

Harry turned and was met by the two deep black eyes that were almost not even distinguable. Harry pointed it harder at him but he didn't even flinch.

"Who are you?", harry demanded.

"I'm the person that just saved your life", the man simply answered.

"Why?", Harry demanded, "Why did you save my life?".

Harry could feel the man smirk, "Because you were getting killed out there and you don't know bats, I do". Harry glared at him, or tried to glare at him.

"So what's the occasion?", Harry could feel him continue to move around.

"What do you mean?", Harry asked searching for his face.

He let out a great chuckle, "Now don't tell me that all these people showing up has been just a coincidence".

"People? What people?", Harry asked. "Please you're the third one I've seen down here this week", the man replied, "You're the first one I saved from those bats though".

Third one?

"Who were the other two", he pushed.

The man shrugged, "I don't know. Couldn't see their faces. They were kind of in the middle of being attacked by bats".

Harry looked deep into his face, "Who are you?".

"Oh excuse my manners, Pat is my name", he held out his hand to Harry's. Harry took it rather reluctantly.

"And you are my dear boy?", Pat asked still holding Harry's hand.

"Harry. Harry Potter", he replied.

Pat dropped his hand quickly almost as if it would sting him.

"Harry Potter?", he asked barley a whisper.

Harry nodded curiously, "Why?".

Pat's eyes got as wide as his head and he started pushing Harry towards the back of the dark room, "You must get out of here. Now. Once they find out there is no surviving them".

"What? Why?", Harry asked as he was being pushed out of the room.

Pat ignored his protests and continued, "Follow the path of moths and once you reach the light at the end of the corridor pull on it. It will lead you to a pair of stairs take them two at a time as if you step on the one in the middle you die. You'll know what to do from there. Do you understand me Harry?".

Harry nodded, "Yes but where am I going?".

Pat ignored his question again and pushed him out the door, "Also, tell no one that I helped you".

Harry was about to respond but the door slammed in front of him and Harry was left to find his way out of where ever he was by himself.
