Chapter 11:

They drove to Harry's house so that Ron could change out of his dirty clothes before going home to Hermione. He couldn't let her ask questions about where they were or why they were covered head to toe in dirt and mud. They ditched the car about 5 blocks away just in case someone recognized the car as Lightmans.

They walked inside the house and  they immediately regretted it.

"RONALD WEASLEY WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!" Came a booming voice.

Ron shuddered. "She's becoming scarier than my mum."

Hermione's face was boiling with anger but her eyes contained the slightest bit of relif.

"I have been worried sick about you! Do you ever care about anyone besides yourself?" she screamed.

She turned to Harry. "Same goes for you mister. Ginny and I have been up for hours biting our nails waiting for you two to come home!"

Ginny appeared at the door. She was not as angry as Hermione which Harry was happy for but her face was still mad will traces of disappointment in it. Harry just wanted to go give her a hug and tell her that everything is okay and that he was really sorry but he knew that he couldn't. He knew that she was mad at him and there was no way he was going to escape Hermiome's scolds.

"Do you know what time it is? It's one o'clock  in the morning!" Hermione continued.

Ron opened his mouth to speak but
Hermione cut him off.

"And to add to it you show up looking like you just woke up from the dead," she said signaling at his and Harry's clothes.

Ron had given up on trying to reason with her and just stared blankly at the ground. Harry now noticed that tears were forming in Hermione's eyes. She quickly wiped them away and stocked off the the bathroom leaving hot air all around them.

The air was filled with an awkward silence.

"It's late you should stay here for the night," Ginny said breaking the silence.

She was determinedly not meeting Harry's eyes.

She turned away and got the guest room ready for Ron and Hermione.

Ron dropped himself onto the couch. "If only they knew the type of day we have had. They would defiantly be treating us better," Ron mumbled but his voice sounded tired and drained.

Harry sunk down next to him.

He knew what Ron was trying to tell him but he still hadn't changed his mind.

"We can't tell them Ron. We need to be sure that there is someone out there or not," Harry explained, "It hurts me too you know."

"I know," Ron said defeated, "just saying."
