Cara's POV
Venice was like nothing I had ever dreamed of. It was wonderful, and Leonardo had just moved here. He said that in a couple of years time, he hoped to have saved enough money to open a workshop.
His house was lovely, with a little office, a lounge area, a bathroom, one bedroom, and spare room which he intended to use for crafting. It was apparent he had been here several times before, to deliver furnishings as they were already here.
"I'm afraid, dear Cara, I have no room here. However, I have friends at the thieves guild, the mercenaries, courtesans, and the assassin base who would be more than happy to take you in."
"Wonderful. Are you sure it wouldn't be a burden for them?"
"Of course not. I'd advise the Assassin bureau in Roma, as I heatd they were looking for new recruits."
"Thank you Leonardo, for everything. I'll be in touch, and if you ever need anything be sure to let me know. I expect to be hearing of this workshop of yours!"
"Of course, Cara. Have a safe journey, and farwell."
I dipped my head to him and walked out into the city, pulling my hood over my head. Spotting a horse, I mounted it and took off in the direction of Roma.
I could tell that this was the start of
something wonderful.
*··········*··········*
After a while of aimlessly wondering around Roma, I felt a certain pull toward the back of an Art Merchant's shop.
I couldn't describe what it was. My legs were moving for me and I just felt lile there was something waiting for me around the back of that shop, in the small courtyard.
I climbed up onto the roof overlooking the small area confined in the four walls of the courtyard.
There was an assassin surrounded by 4 guards, with an alarming amount of blood spewing from their stomach area. The guards were jabbing at the assassin, teasing them and laughing among themselves. A complete rage overtook me, and I shot one of the guards, flattening myself on the roof afterwards so nobody could see who had shot them.
"Who are you?"
"Show yourself!"
I shot another guard with my crossbow, before hastily throwing a knife at another. The other, I jumped down upon, slicing directly through their throat with my hidden blade.
Out of respect, I went around and closed all their eyes before kneeling before the assassin.
"Where is the bureau?"
"Are you an assassin?"
"Sì."
"End of this street, take a left at the dottore, keep going then turn right."
"Grazie. Come on, we have to leave."
"Wait, you're taking me with you?"
"Well I'm certainly not leaving you here to die. May no brother be left behind."
"T-thank you."
I hauled the man up, and draped his arm over my shoulder. He barely managed to stay upright as I followed the directions he had told me. I pressed my hand on the wound, to stop any unneccesary blood leaking out.
I knocked on the door of the bureau.
"Who is it?"
"Mierda, Open the door!" The man howled.
The door swung open to reveal a man with his hair pulled back into a ponytail at the nape of his neck, and he wore a shocked expression. His face paled as he ushered us inside, me doing most of the work.
"Come, follow me."
I followed the man down several flights of stairs to, what looked like, a medical room.
"Put him on the table."
I did as he said and set to work taking the man's weaponry from him, as that was surely uncomfortable. He had completely passed out at this point, but the bleeding seemed to have stopped, which was wierd.
The man walked over to me and sighed, putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Thank you brother, for-"
"Sister."
"What?"
I took my hood down and let my hair free.
"Sister."
He looked shocked, and then smiled.
"Well, thank you for your services. It is unlikely he will survive, but you somehow managed to cease the bleeding. For all your work, would you join us in the brotherhood?"
"I'd like nothing more."
"Welcome to the Roma brotherhood, sister."
