Liah's POV
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"We need to leave, it's not safe for you here." Lucy replied, rifling through a cabinet to get my file.
"What do you mean?"
"How long were you in the animus for?" Rebecca asked, while tampering with the computer and transferring some stuff.
"I was last in for three days, but I'm usually in for about a week." I replied. It sounded bad like that.
"Exactly. You'll develop Cara's mannerisms and techniques, but with the extreme amount of time you were in there, the bleeding effect is going to be really bad." Shaun said.
I wondered what this would entail. It sounded horrific.
"Right, Liya, are you ready to run?"
"I think so."
"Then, let's go!" Lucy said, urgency clear in her voice.
I followed the three of them, shakily walking as fast as my stiff legs would allow. There were glass offices with several other test subjects in, and there seemed to be no end to them.
Cara weaved through the neverending maze of huge stone cages, full of the skeletons of those sho weren't lucky enough to find a way out. She thought she would never find the exit in this labyrinth. She began to get frustrated and sub-consciously flicked her blades in and out. Alas, she found an opening in the rock and went through it.
"Liya? Liya!" My vision blurred into focus. Shaun was holding me by my shoulders, shaking me slightly.
"W-What happened?" I squeaked out.
"The iris' of your eyes turned nearly black and you stopped moving. Did you have a flashback?" Rebecca asked, concerned. We started moving again. We speed-walked through a door and turned to a long corridor with an elevator at the end.
"Yeah."
"What happened?"
"It was Cara. It looked like she was in a huge lair of sorts, it looked kind of sacred. But there were huge stone cells with skeletons in them too." I explained.
We entered the elevator and Rebecca pressed the '-1' button, presumably to go to a car park.
"Sounds like a lair of Romulus to me. Ezio did some when we had Desmond."
"Desmond?"
"Another test subject. You'll meet him later. He's from Ezio's line."
We came out into a car park- surrounded by security guards.
We took on 2 each.
One man threw a punch at me, which I dodged, causing him to punch his friend. I grabbed the injured one and smashed his head on my kneecap, throwing him to the floor.
I kicked his friend behind the knee, causing his leg to buckle. I took this time to kick him to the floor and send a swift kick to his face- knocking him out.
The others had finished- but Shaun was on the floor clutching his leg. I ran over to him and kneeled down, taking the injured part on my lap.
"Shaun what happened?"
"One of them had a knife!" He covered his face with his hands.
He had a deep gash in one of his shins. It made me cringe.
I pulled back the fabric where it had been ripped in order to fully assess the wound.
I went to get out a stone that was in the open gash, but as I did, the ends of my fingers glowed a blinding gold. Lucy, Rebecca and I looked away, not wanting to hurt our eyes with the bright light.
The light died off eventually, and Shaun's wound was now non existent.
"What the hell?!" I asked.
"The bleeding effect, Cara had it too." Rebecca explained.
We went to a silver car, with Shaun mumbling about how I could heal wounds but I couldn't repair fabric.
Lucy opened the boot and looked at me expectantly.
"Are you for real?"
"It's for your own safety." She said.
I clambered in, and she shut the boot.

I must have fallen asleep eventually, as I woke up to the boot being opened to reveal a tired looking Lucy.
"Welcome home." She said.
I got out to see we were in some kind of warehouse.
We ascended a few ramps and navigated through a few corridors before we got into a room with an animus, several computers, and a small living area.
There was a guy there wearing jeans and a white hoodie. He had a scar on his lip, just like Ezio.
"Desmond Miles, subject seventeen." He extended his hand, which I took and shook.
"Liya Dawes, subject eighteen." I smiled at him.
"Liya, over here!" Rebecca called me over to her computer next to the animus.
"What is it?" I asked, walking over.
"Do you think you'll be okay in the animus for a little longer? I just need to register the data and put it all in order."
"Yeah thats fine. But, what do you mean 'put it in order'?"
"Didn't you notice? It was a long, long time between Ezio's uncle Mario dying and Rodrigo becoming doge. A lot happened in that time gap, and none of these memories in this DNA sequence are in order." She explained.
After thinking about it, I realised she was right.
I climbed into the animus, and let the past consume me.

"Just go, stop my brother! I-I'll be fine." Lucrezia choked out, her breathing becoming more regular.
I nodded and opened the door to leave.
"Cara! Just make sure you kill the bastardo." She called after me.
I ran as fast as I could physically go through the hallways until I reached a courtyard where there was a large golden structure in the middle, but I wasn't quite sure what it was.
Ezio appeared on one side of the courtyard, and I could see Cesarè fast approaching.
Ezio closed his eyes momentarily and then opened them. He pressed part of the structure and it opened- revealing the apple of Eden.
Cesarè surged forward, anger and determination evident on his face.
"NO!"
Ezio went to pick up the apple of Eden and then-
"Rebecca? Shaun? Lucy? What's going on?"
"I-I don't know. I've never seen anything like this before. The file for what happened next is really messed up and it seems like Cara- OH MY GOD!"
"What? What's happening?"
"Lucy, Shaun, what do we do?"
"What's going- oh my god!"
"Will someone please tell me what is going on?!"
"I-I think it's the bleeding effect but... No. This is something bigger. Surely Abstergo must have done something-"
"Here, it's a link. There's a document and it looks like Abstergo have programmed your animus file to bleed through fully."
"Can you pull her out?"
"I can pull her out but-"
"But what?"
"Ugh. Liya, you're not going to like this."
A/N- What do you think is happening?
