Ezio's POV

Today, Cara and I were going to see our friend, Leonardo Da Vinci in Venezia. I was looking forward to seeing the man, as he was an inventor, so I was hoping he might have some weapon modifications.

We took the ship to Venice together, talking about anything and everything. The conversation with Cara always thrived, and we never ran out of things to talk about.

We disembarked the ship, and Cara motioned for me to follow her. We weaved our way through the streets, and as we were just about to get to Leonardo's workshop, I noticed a door being guarded by four Borgia guards. It certainly captured my attention, and I was curious as to what they were protecting.

I nudged Cara and nodded toward the Guards, and watched as she took two throwing knives from her pocket, and I did the same. We took out two guards each with the knives, and managed somehow to avoid being noticed by rooftop archers.

We entered to what looked to be an office area, with a chest on the table. I opened it to see some Florins, and a roll of paper. The writing on it was written in something I did not understand, and I recognised it to be Codex. Uncle Mario had some at the Villa De Auditore, and I decided to see if Leonardo knew what to do with it.

We entered Leonardo's workshop, and took our hoods down.

"Ah! Ezio! Cara! Buon Giorno!"

"Buon Giorno, Leonardo. How is the workshop coming on?"

"I am meeting with an architect later to discuss plans."

"So, Leonardo, on the way here we found this." I handed him the scroll, and he unrolled it.

"Ah, I recognise this."

"Do you have an idea of what it might be?"

"Codex."

"Do you know how to decipher it?"

"I do not think so. This code looks so complex." My heart sank slightly. I was looking forward to knowing what it meant.

"Actually! If we take every fourth..."

He went on quietly mumbling to himself and scribbling on scrap of paper.

"I've got it!"

"What is it?"

"It looks like a design for some sort of blade modification. A hollow blade filled with poison."

"Do you think you could make it?"

"Pass me your blade, Ezio, and I will try."

Several hours later, and he was finished.

"Grazie, Leonardo. And best of luck with the workshop!"

"Nessun problema, Ezio. Let me know if you find any more codex, I would like to see more!"

"Of course."

Cara and I exited, and decided to test the knew blade modification.

I walked past a guard and cut along his back, letting the poison seep in.

His eyes fell droopy, and he begun wildly flailing his arms around, injuring his colleagues. He blindly struck one with his sword, and went on being violent before dropping, dead, to ths floor.

It worked, and I could see it becoming very useful in the future.
