Ezio's POV

Cara and I had been so much closer since the night I came and saved her from the Castello. We came as a pair, and wherever one of us went, the other went too.

"Cara?"

"Sì?" She responded from the stables outdoor. I started walking to meet her out there.

"Do you know where Guier is?"

"By the sounds of it, he's trying his luck with Skylar."

This made me chuckle.

I still hadn't gotten used to Cara's amazing senses. It was truly extraordinary, and It was useful too. It made missions so much easier, because she could tell us where trouble was and what people were saying, even from a distance.

I hadn't told her about my eagle vision yet, because I didn't feel that the time was right. I would tell her when it was relevant. I didn't want to freak her out.

"You know Cara, we still haven't been to see your friend in Venice." I informed her. She opened her mouth to say something, but she was interrupted by someone shouting from the pidgeon coops on the roof.

"Cara, pidgeon for you!"

We scampered up onto the rooftop and retrieved the message. It read:

Cara & Ezio,

Some of my men are being given grief by Borgia guards. They are around the countryside areas, but I'm sure that together, you will find them just fine.

My men are in disguise, so they will look lile civillians. Ezio, I'm sure you'll have no trouble picking them out from the crowd.

Buona fortuna,

La Volpe.

Cara and I rode wordlessly through the countryside, waiting for any sign of the thieves La Volpe mentioned. Cara would turn her head at the slightest breeze, or if a tree in the distance swayed. She was clearly on full alert and it was entertaining to watch.

Right now, she was looking hazily into the distance, and I couldn't help but look at her. The way her hair shined in the light and blew in the wind, and the way her eyes perfectly matched the colour of her hair. It was bizarre, and it looked like someone had painted her. The freckles on her nose and cheeks turned darker in the sunlight, and-

"Ezio, you are staring."

I felt the colour rush to my cheeks, and I lowered my head. Cara just laughed, but stopped abruptly. She pulled her horse to a halt, and narrowes her eyes.

She all of a sudden rode off the road we were on, and through the woods in a quick gallop. I just followed, because I guess she knew where the trouble was.

We reached a clearing, where there were 4 thieves on the floor, weapons laid out in front of them, an armada of sharp weaponry. Standing over them, were 4 Borgian brutes, glaring viciously at them as if they had done something truly awful.

Cara leapt off her horse a while away from the clearing, and set to work climbing trees. She motioned to me to climb the one next to her, and I did as told. We crept slowly toward the scene in front of us that was slowly unfolding. It was so quiet I could have sworn I could hear the grass growing.

We were now among the canope of trees surrounding the thieves and brutes. She took on out with a throwing knife, ducking behind the trunk of the tree afterwards. I took one out with my crossbow, and rushed to get out of sight.

The other two guards were looking about frantically, and as I turned around to get another with my gun, an axe came hurtling in my direction.

"EZIO!"
