"Yes Your Highness." I say, grabbing a grip on his arm. Ohhh he got muscles.
"Do you see something you like?" he asks raising his eyebrows. Oops I guess I stared a little too long.
"No... sorry, I... augh." I respond clearly flustered. He smiles and looks straight forward. We walk over to a little spot with two chairs and a mini table. I sit down, and smooth out my dress.
"How would you describe yourself in three words?" he asks abruptly.
"Creative, kind, and organized." I respond without missing a beat.
"Why?" he counters, clearly trying to catch me unprepared.
"Creative because I can think of many cool, new, art ideas. Kind because I put others before myself. And organized because I have basically kept my family together for the past ten years..."
"Ahh I see."
"What about you?"
"Pardon me?"
"What are three words you would use to describe yourself?" I rally, trying to catch him off guard like he tried to do for me.
"Oh...um..." he responds clearly taken back. Point One: Saige. "Caring, responsible, and mature."
"Why?"
"I knew you were going to ask that," he says shaking his head and smiling. "Caring because I look after the workers in the palace to make sure they are okay, responsible because I take a lot of tasks away from my Mother and do them myself so she gets time to herself, and mature because since I am an only child and a prince I was forced to grow up pretty quickly."
"That I can relate too," I add. "Not the prince or only child part though. When I was about ten years old I took over the motherly role in the house. I didn't get a "proper" childhood experience. I cared for my brother and little sister, and even my dad from time to time."
"I bet your sibling were glad to have you around."
"I sure hope so! What's it like being an only child?"
"Well lonely of course, and frustrating sometimes. It's hard not having anyone close to my age to talk too."
"Even though it's not the same, what about some of the young workers?"
"Well there was this one girl... but none of them get me and my lifestyle, and I don't get them. That makes it really difficult. They are always too busy with there own friends." I teach over and give him a hug. Not a "let's get close and do dirty things" hug, but just a genuine "I am here for you" hug.
He looks back at me, with appreciation.
"Thank you."
"I could tell you needed it."
"You know, your the first girl to ask me a question other than "how are you?"."
"I've been known to be unique."
"Unique is most positively good."
