Charlotte, the second Belmont child who just wants to fly under the radar, which is pretty easy seeing that most of the attention is on her youngest sister, or her oldest brother. Both of whom she despises. To be quite honest, she does not like any of her six other siblings or family besides her polar opposite twin. All she ever wanted to do was distance herself until she could just go. But when tragedy strikes the palace, everyone starts looking to Charlotte, noticing the girl who only got the fame for a few years when she was younger. When the public wants full access to her life they mostly forgot, her family starts to look to her to make big choices, and suddenly the fate of the place she has always wanted to leave is up to her, the pressure just might add up to make it crumble.
Or will Charlotte do what she has been taught her whole life which is to suck it up and move forward.
"You know I never wanted this right?" I say laughing.
He looks to me smiling. "I know, but sometimes things change for the better."
Uncovering a circle of family scandals and secrets, assuming the Crown, and sifting through fifty boys to find her husband is a task Charlotte thought wouldn't be her's to deal with. But a certain few boys make it all worth the while...

Chapter One:
Andrew, Charlotte, Emme, Hailey, William, Liam, and finally, Madeline.
I think I have only been a number my whole life, not that I care anymore. Number two in the list of Belmont kids, but doubtful number two in my parents heart. I think I am last, with everyone else tying for number three after Madeline stealing my number two slot, and Andrew taking the gold. No surprise there though, we all know it, no one admits it. My parents pretend there isn't a rank, but there just is, you know?
I suppose I can't help feeling worthless.
"I am leaving." I say to no one in particular, grabbing my camera and keys. No one can hear me in this freakin huge palace anyways. People will always be like, "but you grew up in the palace, how can it seem huge?". It just is, I don't know how to explain it.
With no response, not that I was expecting one, I leave, and quiet honestly don't plan on coming back for the night. The only person who would notice my absence is Emme, but she always assumes the better, and keeps going.
I tie my flannel shirt into a knot, folding it just perfectly so it shows three inches from my low rise jeans. I have to give them something.
By "them" I am referring to the people who get paid to sit outside the palace just in case, god forbid, one of us comes outside to do something amazing. Something like, hmm, walk to the fancy black car and get driven to school, or even better come outside to take a walk our dog.
Oh wait. My dad pays someone to do that for us.
I dont really get it, everyone loves him and my mom, apparently there love story was, (quoting Palace Perfection Magazine) "one of a kind" and "just exquisite". But honestly I see the mom who just works with her photogenic children to make them better and the dad who just wants happiness for the country but doesn't realize one of his OWN KIDS is unhappy.
