authors note:
hey, these are all scenes that I thought of after the book ended. cute little ones that don't make a huge difference in the book, but are too cute to not write. these are not epilogue scenes (those will be coming out soon) but bits and pieces that add up to their romance. enjoy!

I waltz back up to the gymnastics studio, cramming in some time for stress relief and relaxing. After the Elite was chosen, the King hasn't stop watching me. I can feel his presence sometimes, a lot actually. It's creeping me out. Plus the whole "being and Elite" thing. It's all super stressful. So time for my Saige time and singing.

"Stretch, two, three four, five, six, seven eight nine..." Round off Saige. Better Saige. Better Saige! Ariel walkover, back walkover, Ariel walkover. Back flip, better landing Saige! I stretch out the wrinkles in my tight volleyball shorts. They have this nice band on the top, it's neon yellow, but it's soft. I run my fingers under my crisscross bra straps, getting ready for my next flip.

Then my favorite new country song plays, and I start singing along.

"You say what if I hurt you, what if I leave you
What if I find somebody else and I don't need you
What if this goes south, what if I mess you up
You say what if I break your heart in two then what" Then a voice behind me starts.

"Well I hear you girl, I feel you girl but not so fast
Before you make your mind up I gotta ask" I turn around and look straight into Will's beautiful deep blue eyes.

And I sing right at him, almost sing shouting, and he does the same back at me. Almost a perfect harmony.

"What if I was made for you and you were made for me
What if this is it, what if it's meant to be
What if I ain't one of them fools just playin' some game
What if I just pulled you close, what if I leaned in
And the stars line up and it's our last first kiss
What if one of these days baby I'd go and change your name
What if I loved all these what ifs away" We sing, smiling, I do my little hand motions acting it out.

"What if the sky falls (sky falls) or the sun stops burnin'
We could worry about them what ifs 'til the world stops turnin'
Or I could kiss you (you should kiss me), what if you liked it (bet I'd like it)
Well we ain't never gonna know unless we try it" Will sings, and I add in little parts.

"What if I was made for you and you were made for me
What if this is it, what if it's meant to be
What if I ain't one of them fools just playin' some game
What if I just pulled you close, what if I leaned in" I took two steps closer, our faces inches apart.
"And the stars line up and it's our last first kiss
What if one of these days baby I'd go and change your name
What if I loved all these what ifs away"

"Awe yea" I sing, almost taunting him. "C'mon"

"You say what if I hurt you, what if I leave you
What if I find somebody else and I don't need you

Damn" He low whistles after that, looking at me. It's my fault I just practice in a sports bra, shirts get two complicated when you start flipping.

"What if I was made for you and you were made for me
What if this is it, what if it's meant to be
What if I ain't one of them fools just playin' some game" Will spins me around, and dips me.
"What if I just pulled you close, what if I leaned in
And the stars line up and it's our last first kiss
What if one of these days baby I'd go and change your name
What if I loved all these what ifs away
Away (away)" We harmonize again. It's music to my hears.

"What if?" He asks, looking at me. He comes close and kisses me, still dipping me. When we finally pull apart I am all smiles. And I smile my worries away for the rest of the day.
