I wake up and yawn, throwing open the blinds to let some light in. Today is a lazy day. No completion worries, well supposedly. That's why I love Sundays. Three words: girls movie marathon! Except today girls are going home. No one knows who won, and how many are going home. So we all gather in my room one last time. Just to be able to be together. The door opens, then it doesn't close as girls float in in their pajamas and lazy clothes. We all sit down in a circle. Rowan is to my right and Holiday is to my left. It's nice to have this cozy, close friend feeling. Something I never really had growing up.

flashback:
Two dutch braids and two big dreams: open up my own bakery with Thomas in France and revive a metal the Junior Olympics, preferably for the floor routine. Always had a knack for dancing and rythme. Special Saige was my name and surprising people with my abilities was my game. I clutch my tiny pink backpack with my initials sewn into it. Owen says that school is the best because their is recess and you can play football. But I don't want to play football I want to get an A in music and math, and show my mommy all my art projects, and have tons of friends. She will be proud of me then.

But as my mom slipped away from me, so did my friends. We grew apart and then I really broke it, snapping every bond with anyone I could. Trying to minimize the pain. Everyone around me was distant, even Thomas at times. I was a pain to be around, easily frustrated, sad, confused, and overall disappointed. The only people I was actually close with was Abigail, Owen, Thomas, and Miss Penny. School wasn't a escape from work anymore, it was a get in, get out, get an A, make everyone proud. Then the accident, and I graduated early, just so I could get to work. It's not like I worked overtime hours from 3pm to closing already...."
end of flashback

So you can tell what a change it is for me to actually have friends. Everyone makes comments, "wow aren't you pretty Saige, you must be popular at school.", "are you a cheerleader? you are so skinny!", "how many boyfriends have you had?", "what do you use on your hair?". A stream of nit picking points of me I could almost be disappointed in. I love my hair, and it's all natural so no harm there. But the boyfriend and skinny comments make me wince at memories of my 16 year old self. Invisible, but having an urge to stick out.

"Okay," Andrea says, smoothing out her hair. "My vote is mean girls."

"She could be Regina George herself." I think, laughing in my head.

"Works for me." Hailey says, clearly not wanting to start a fight. Norah and April nod their head in agreement. The quiet, yet sweet and caring ones.

"I am a personal fan of The Fault in Our Stars." Peyton pipes up, clearly smitten over at the thought of love.

"So am I!" London says, swapping seats with Andrea to sit next to Peyton.

"Is this going to be another High School Musical tiebreaker?" I ask.

"Can't go wrong with a classic!" Rowan says.

"Fine..." I say, jumping up to pop in High School Musical Three in my dvd player. Who doesn't love a good dvd?

"Here ya go girls." Kelsey says, passing around snack bowls with strawberries, grapes, and chocolate covered pretzels. Then comes water and sparkling orange juice. I mean, Sundays are for the girls. Who else?

"Want to come join us?" I ask, already eyeing those yummy strawberries.

"I should probably help Lauren with the dress..." She says quietly.
