I race down the flights of stairs breathing heavily. I quickly dash into my room and put on a casual white sundress. I tie my hair up with ribbons then head over to the Common room.
"Fashionably late?" Chrissy asks.
"Sorry...." I mumble.
"It's okay, but never mumble. Either be confident or don't say anything."
"Okay, I am sorry." I say.
"Okay girls, let's go over some United Kingdom of America history shall we?"
"We shall." We respond in a monotoned voice.
"How about how the United Kingdom of America came to be. Go for it Blaire."
I pull out my black ballpoint pen and my pool blue notebook ready to take notes.
"It started with King James and Queen Lauren Libby. They were among the first voyagers to America, which was a unexplored area to the original United Kingdom. They were the leaders of the exploration and were voted King and Queen of the new country. They built it on freedom of choice, tradition, and hard work. They started by trading with the United Kingdom of Canada and the United Kingdom of Mexico, built cities, and evolved. Now we take pride in our tradition of King and Queen, are one of the most successful trading Kingdoms and what not."
"Good job! Now if everyone could grab a textbook and take their computer out, I would like to share a new optional assignment."
Class drags on but I am fallowing every word taking little bullet points.
"That's enough for today, go get ready for lunch." Chrissy announced. We all get up and leave making a bee-line for the door. I get back up to my room and decided to open up the note I received.
"Dear Saige,
I would be honored if you would join me at the stables after breakfast tomorrow as one of my first dates of the Selected season. If it is a yes please request boots from one of your maids and a riding jacket. Wear comfortable clothing. Please take the RSVP tab and respond yes or no.Best Wishes,
Prince William ""Ohmigosh!! It's happening!" I thought to myself. I let out a soft squeal and decided I would write Abigail later this afternoon.
I picked out a baby yellow short dress. It was similar to my other dresses, but this one had spaghetti straps. It was simple and flows nicely, in addition it had a brown leather belt and a brown leather jacket to match. I wore four inch brown leather wedges before being happy with my outfit.
"I want to design some outfits with Kelsey..." I mumbled under my breath.
"I would love to do that with you!" Kelsey chirped.
"Augh! You scared me!"
"Sorry! I just finished cleaning the bathroom. How would you like your hair/makeup/nails done?"
"Could you pin it back with one of those glittery jewel pins? Just mascara and lipgloss. Could I get a peachy color?"
"Sure thing Miss Saige. Any updates on Prince William?"
"Not much I can disclose..."
"Okay okay I get it. Are you excited about the big surprise?"
"Yes! But I am nervous about the next elimination... It's always a big one."
"That is true, just make sure you have the potential to be a future wife. You obviously do, but maybe it's not the right fit for Prince William."
"That's true, but now we should decide what I should wear tomorrow!"
"Classy or cute?"
"Cute defiantly!"

"And now for The Update....!" David Davidson announces in his loud voice.
"Hello United Kingdom of America, it is my pleasure to reveal the "surprise" everyone is waiting for. It has come to my attention that after spending some time in the palace, family members at home would like to see The Selected. So in honor of a little girl who wrote to me, a new event in The Selected we will have is Family Weekend! So during three random points of the competition the remaining selected will be able to go home and spend the weekend with their family. The first ever Family Weekend will happen this coming weekend after our next elimination. So to all the excited Selected, remember you still have to get past Stage Two: First Dates."
"Well isn't that something United Kingdom of America? How do you gals feel about this? Miss Peyton?"
"Well I am really excited! I do not know all about the lives of the rest of the Selected but I do know that me and a few of my closer Selected friends all have younger siblings we would like to see."
"Any friend you would like to mention?"
"Well Miss Saige and I had a conversation on the plane here about our family. We both agree that while the completion is hard, getting used to the new routine without our families is harder." Peyton answers.
"Miss Saige?"
"Miss Peyton is right." I begin with. "While trying to beat out a load of girls for a guy you have thought was cute for a long time is difficult, it has been hard to adjust to a new lifestyle where I am not the one always doing something to keep the day going. In my family, something always is going on or someone is always hurt, and not being with them is hard. I do not have to be the makeshift mom, but I do not get to see them face to face. I truly appreciate the Family Weekend. Thank you Prince William and the Royal Family." Everyone claps for a few seconds before David speaks up again.
"Wasn't that just worded wonderfully. Miss Andrea any thoughts?"
"Well I for one think that even though this is a cute idea, we have more important things to focus on. We are all here for a reason, and that is for the Prince. Yes, I do miss my family, but I really want this opportunity. Being unfocused is not going to cut it." Andrea says, giving me a smug smile. The King gives a few claps along with a few audience members.
"A different point of few but an important one, did Prince William make the right call? See you Wednesday for the next Update!" The cut out music plays and the lights flash green.
I think I found out who my biggest competition is.
