3 days later

I woke up to the sweet aroma of bacon and coffee. I slowly opened my eyes and turned over on my back to squint at the bright morning light that invaded our bedroom.

I sighed and laid there for a while still reminiscing about my horrible day I had 3 days ago. With that on my mind I rose up out of bed and trudged slowly towards the bathroom for a much needed shower. While I stood under the warm inviting stream, it was difficult not to think about what my birth mother wrote. It was the worst feeling ever. It pained my heart that she did not want me. But as I slowly lathered up and inhaled the relaxing aroma of my body wash, Max's words came back to me. I don't need a paper to state what wasn't so obvious. I am loved, cherished and wanted by everyone around me.

It warmed me deep down to my soul all what he said. I took every word he whispered to me that night , between his passionate kisses and caresses with a proverbial grain of salt.

The past no longer mattered. All that mattered right now was my future. My family.

Moments later after doing my hair, make-up and getting dressed, I gave myself one last look in the mirror before walking out of the bedroom.

I stepped into the living room and looked over towards the kitchen where Max stood talking to Miliana as she giggled and ate her breakfast. I observed the two loves of my life. I felt an overwhelming joy seeing them both. It was comforting to finally come out my depressive enclosure.

Not wanting to stop their little bond that they had, I stepped slowly forward until they noticed me. I watched my baby girls eyes light up as I came closer and sat beside her. After our kisses and hugs, I sat up and looked over to Max.

I smiled as his eyes glittered with love and tenderness lowered to focus on the cup of mint tea he was pouring. He leaned over and placed it before me. We said nothing. Our gazes said much of everything words could not express. We listened as Miliana spoke and slowly we fell into a brief conversation with her.

"Hey squirt we better get a move on before your late for school," he mentioned lifting his wrist watch to check the time.

"Go ahead and wash your hands and brush your teeth sweetie," I mentioned as she slowly jumped off the chair. I watched her run off towards the bathroom. Suddenly, I turned in time to watch him slowly approach me. His soft gaze held mine. He stood inches away from me that I could smell his cologne and feel his warmth. I swear I could get lost in him. The moment he pressed his palm to my cheek, I was sure I was going to melt away at his feet. He lowered his head and pressed his lips to mine for a chaste kiss before pulling back and staring down at me.

"How are you feeling?" A flicker of concern spread through his eyes and was gone as I smiled and nodded.

"I'm o.k.?"

He stared at me for a while.

"You sure?" he insisted. I smiled again.

"With you and Miliana in my life, I am more than o.k.," I assured him.

The corner of his lip curled into a sexy grin before he leaned down slowly and kissed me once more. This time it was sensual, lingering and spicy.
