6 days later
Sunday Morning.....I sat back in my chair and took a sip of lemon tea. I had woken up early to sore, swollen breasts that felt like they were on fire nothing I did comforted me. So I put my game face on as the call came in and Miliana greeted me. For a while I sat admiring both the view of Chicago at my window and my baby girls smile as she explains her dilemma of her dad's cooking.
"Daddy burned our pancakes," she blurted out. "Again."
I laughed watching him in the background working his magic to hide the obvious. That he was struggling.
"That's not true, I had the stove top high. Besides who had the marvellous idea of distracting me after taking my phone and placing a long distance call to Japan." he shouted in the background fanning away the smoke in the air.
"But you said I can talk to my friend Kimiko daddy," she turned to look at him.
"Yea pumpkin on FaceTime later on today. They are still asleep." he answered tossing the pan with pancakes in the sink.
More smoke billowed up as they fanned at it.
"Mommy when are you coming home?" she sighed.
I smiled. "Soon baby girl," I held her unconvincing gaze. "Very soon, I promise."It's been a successful six days. Between the presentation and meetings. I felt confident about it. It was one of the biggest products in the country and they were looking for a fresh look.
I focused on Max and Miliana as they now appeared before me, father and daughter presenting their case of bad cooking.
"I made you spaghetti the other night," he pointed out."The spaghetti was still chewy." she giggled.
"I made your favorite lunch," he added.
She shook her head. "You didn't put it in my backpack."
It was too adorable watching them hash out their problems.
"Okay..," he let a long pausing breath. "...so how about I make up the whole breakfast snafu and we take your grandpa's with us out for breakfast?"
"Yesss!," she clapped happily.
She smiled hopping off the chair.
"Go get ready then, we leave in 5 minutes," he laughed smiling at her.
I smiled as he shook his head and laughed watching her run to her room.
"She takes after you, you know that right?" he turns to me and gives me this knowing grin."Not even close. That is all you Mr.Chase," I laughed shaking my head. My heart blossomed as this Adonis of man smiled back at me. The view of him onscreen engulfed my senses.
Its been a torturous 6 days that felt eternally long. A part of me regrets taking the project on and another part of me likes it.
My heart fluttered in my chest as he turned his full attention on me now. The sensation continued and followed suit between my thighs. It amazed me then how a 12.9 inch display of him did things to me. I loved staring at those beautiful grey eyes; so captivating and expressive. It warmed me up in all the right places seeing how they held mine, always filled with love, concern and passion.
"Good Morning," he grinned placing his elbows on the table.
"Good morning," I smiled back as he took a sip from his cup.
"How is the project coming along?" he asked settling into the high chair.
"It's going incredibly well, the contracts are being completed and I sign them tomorrow. I will Fax everything to my dad afterwards."
