Bianca escaped from Bellevue
Those were the words that plagued me throughout the night and I wished I never pressured Max into telling me what was wrong. I got little to no sleep at all tossing and turning; watching the clocks hours tick by. I got up way before the sun was up; I turned to my side and watched Max sleep for a while before quietly slipping out of bed. I popped into the bathroom and decided to freshen up and face my day. The sun was barely up yet as I finally entered the room again with a hot cup of honey lemon tea. I sat by the window and enjoyed the city before me come to life as the sky turned to a beautiful dark orange hue.
I sipped slowly on the sweet and tangy goodness in my cup savoring the scent and taste as it settles nicely in my stomach. I curl further into the chair grateful that my morning sickness this morning was not like yesterday's. Although it's becoming less bearable, I accept it. I smile and lower my fingers to my stomach basking in the sensation of being pregnant again. The slight moan and ruffle of the sheets pull me back to the present and I turn to watch Max slowly wakeup. He reached over to my spot and his eyes shoot wide open and turn to look for me.
The action in itself warmed me. He turned his head over towards where I sat and leaned up on his elbow observing me. He crooked his finger at me. I slowly stood up and walked over towards the bed and climbed in beneath the sheets and settled my head on the pillow to face him. With a sigh, he pulls me close and looks down at me.
"You haven't slept a wink have you?" he asked.
"Is it that obvious?" I try to make a light joke of it but immediately I hold my breath and stare into his serious gaze. My humor is left at the back door as those grey eyes darken and focus on me with hardened concern.
He caresses my jaw. "The tired look in your eyes gives it away Beautiful," He murmured.
"I couldn't sleep." I nibble on my lip guiltily.
"I gathered that." He smirks and settles closer.
"After hearing what happened, it was hard to think of anything else."
He stares at me in silence leisurely looking at my face and caressing my cheek.
"You have nothing to worry about. It will be handled." He gently reminds me before smiling and lowering his lip to kiss me sweetly on the forehead. We hug for a brief moment and I can feel that sweet sensation of arousal warming its way up my body with his. He looks down at me relaxed with a loving gaze.
"I have a full bladder, beautiful." He says with a loving peck on my lips before bounding slowly off the bed. With a sigh, I watch him slowly stand as I too began to pull away the covers. I decided it's best to get ready. On top of everything that has happened, I still had a life that I needed to continue with. "Oh! No, you don't," he whispers wrapping his arms gently around my waist. He pulls me back into bed. "Max?" I gasp.
He settles at my side and looks down at me. Those gorgeous eyes gleam with a smile. "You're staying home and in bed." He says.
I frown.
"I have a lot to do today Max," I argue trying to get up but he pins me down with his body. "You're not going, you need to rest," his eyes held this stern look.
O.k. if you believe this is going to work Mr. Chase, we'll see. I said nothing as he lowered his lips and kissed me lightly before standing up and going to the bathroom. With a sigh, my eyes follow him. I listen as he turns on the shower. I mull over his decision. I didn't like it. I have a conference call and Ad proofs I needed to sort through. After several minutes, he wanders into the room with a towel wrapped around his waist. My argument that was ready to spring from my lips is now forgotten as my eyes land on his broad chest and abs that flexed as he rubbed a second towel over his head. I couldn't help but admire this man that was drool-worthy. He turned giving me his back and opened the dresser drawer pulling out a pair of boxers. Just watching him discard the towel made my heart jump and parts of me tingle as my eyes lowered over every inch of him from his back, tight ass and well-toned legs.
