"Max you shouldn't have," I breathed.
I sat in a chair by the window in my suite and listened to his soft chuckle vibrate over the line. The sexiness in his tone melted me completely.
"Nothing but the best for my wife," he said.
I bit my lip and smiled. I couldn't believe he did this. But, then who am I kidding? It was Max after all.~~~~~
Just as I'd hoped, my flight to Chicago was very smooth. By the time Max kissed me good-bye, I was soaring through the clouds in the sky counting sheep.
When we finally landed, I was fully rested but so hungry.Straight from the Tarmac; I was taken to the hotel. It was a pleasant quiet drive as the limo driver pointed out main sights and attractions throughout the city. Soon after, I busied myself with reports and paperwork.
We arrived at the hotel, and my gaze fell on the tall beautiful high rise we pulled up next to. Suddenly, my door opened, I was greeted by the valet with a friendly smile and outstretched hand. He took my luggage from the chauffeur and walked with me up to the reception desk where I was addressed immediately with another warm welcoming smile.
After receiving my key, the bell hop walked with me towards the elevator. We rode up in silence until we were on my floor. The bell hop entered first, deposited my bag then I tipped him, he thanked me then left me with a gentle click of the door.
I turned then found myself in a large sitting area with a large leather sectional and matching chairs. My heels echoed over the shiny marble floor as I walked over towards the floor to ceiling windows. The view of Chicago's skyline was simply breathtaking.
I turned and made my way towards the bedroom and stopped at the threshold. My gaze landed on a large gift wrapped box with a large bow on the bed. I slowly stepped close to it. Now, I know it's customary for some hotels to have a welcome basket filled with complimentary items and a bottle of Champagne. But, this was a surprise.
I plucked the card from the top of it and flipped it over. My lips curve into a smile as I recognize the familiar handwriting.
Beautiful,
I wanted to spoil you while you were away. I hope you like it. Call me when you get settled in.
I love you...
Yours and only yours,
MaxWow!
I sat on the bed and carefully peeled away the gift wrap. It looked too gorgeous to destroy. I finally cleared away the last piece and lifted the lid. I cleared away the tissue wrap and my heart dropped to my stomach immediately.
"Oh Max!" I breathed.
I reached into the box and pulled out a Black Hermês Togo Birkin bag.
Holy mother!!!
It took me a while to grasp the surprise. It took my breath away. This was literally the handbag of all handbags. This hands down would have gotten him a mind blowing lay if he were before me. I reached into my pocket book, pulled out my phone and dialed him.
"Beautiful," he answered on the second ring. His tone warm and deep, it caressed my senses and instantly my heart did a shaky flip.
"I got in not too long ago," I said slowly pulling off my heels.
