AMELIAS POV
Owen and I were tired so we ate pizza together and drove home. I almost fell asleep on the ride home. Owen noticed and put his hand on my leg.
"Hey it's ok to fall asleep," he said. I put my hand on top of his.
"I'm ok," I said. He leaned across and kissed my forehead. I held his hand tight. It was really dark out. I stared out the window and let go of Owen's hand. It was so dark, then it got bright. Everything was in slow motion. The lights. The car. The crash. A car came out of nowhere and smashed into my side. Owen's truck didn't flip thank god, but I was hurt. The car must have been speeding bc it crashed right into us and the damage was bad.
"Amelia are you okay," Owen said frantically, trying to help.
"No, owww, my leg," I said grabbing his hand.
"Can you move?" He asked as he dialed 911.
"No it hurts too much," I said.
"Ok, ok," he said and called 911. He talked to the operator and an ambulance was on its way. I was in so much pain. I looked at Owen.
"Owen I can't take pain killers," I said.
"Ok," he said.
"Just incase I pass out, tell them that," I said.
"I will, I promise you," he said. I looked at the blood everywhere. I felt like I was going to throw up. I felt dizzy. I saw the bright lights coming. Meredith came running out.
"Amelia? Owen?" She yelled.
I was starting to feel claustrophobic.
"Get me out!" I yelled.
"Okay calm down," she said.
"Get me out of this car!" I yelled. Owen grabbed my arm and I looked at him. I was crying. I was in so much pain and I wanted to get out. Owens head was bleeding and I think I was in shock. I wasn't even sure anymore. I started getting more dizzy and I felt the Paramedics move the door of my leg. I yelled, I think I yelled. The pressure was off my leg and I could feel the loss of blood. I felt myself being carried on the stretcher.
"Where Owen?" I yelled.
"He will be right behind us," a female paramedic said. I was starting to loosing feeling in my leg.
"Meredith!" I said.
"Yes?" She looked up from padding all the blood.
"I-I can'tvfeel my leg, I might be delusional but I can't," I said. She ran something under my foot. It was cold.
"Did you feel that," she asked.
"Yeah," I said.
"Okay you'll be okay," she said.
"How bad was Owen?" I asked.
"I'm not sure the other paramedics have him okay?" she said.
"Okay," I said. We got to the hospital and there was a crowd of doctors. My head really started hurting. Callie came in, she took some x-rays.
"Okay you're leg isn't broken, but it's very bruised," she said.
"Okay," I said. An intern came in and cleaned the blood. Meredith came in and held my hand.
"Where's Owen?" I said.
"He's doing okay, alright?" she said. My leg was all bandaged up and Meredith had to stitch a few cuts. I still felt dizzy.
"I fell dizzy," I said. I didn't hear her response because my eyes felt heavy and everything went black.
OWENS POV
I only had a few scratches as bruises. Amelia's leg was crushed. I had a few stitches put in and a few bandages.
"Can I see her?" I asked Bailey.
"Probably," she said.
"Great what room," I said getting up.
"Hey I don't know if she's awake, but floor one room 5," she said.
"Thanks," I walked down the her room and the door was wide open, all the doctors around her and machines beeping.
"What's going on?" I yelled.
"Hunt out!" Meredith yelled and pointed to the door. I watched from the window. Her BP was dropping and I saw one of the nurse go for pain killers.
"No pain killers!" I yelled. Meredith looked at me and yelled at the nurse. All the machines stopped and all the doctors stopped. I felt my heart stop. Meredith turned and looked at me. Amelia's heart beat went up to normal and she smiled. She ran out and hugged me.
"She's ok," she said.
"She's ok," I said.
"Owen?" Amelia said weakly. I walked in and sat next to her. She was all bruised up.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't see the car-" I began but was cut off by her putting a finger to my lips.
"It's ok, I'm ok," she said. She reached out and grabbed my hand and squeezed it.
"Owen I want to go home," she complained, "I'm fine."
"Amelia we were just in a car crash, it's ok to hurt," I said.
"You're right, this hurts like a son of a bitch," she laughed.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you too," she said and kissed my hand. Callie came back in and looked at her leg again.
"Can I go home?" Amelia asked.
"I don't think you'll be able to walk, I'm going to keep you over night," Callie advised.
"Fine," Amelia said. Once Callie left Amelia looked down at her leg and back at me.
"I'm gonna try to walk," she said sitting up.
"Amelia that isn't a good idea," I said trying to get her to lie down.
"It's okay I'm fine," she said and got up. She hobbled around and looked at me.
"Hey I can walk!" she said and smile, "Callie!"
Callie walked back in and smiled at her.
"Can I get discharged?" Amelia asked.
"Only because it's you, but if it hurts I'm serious page or call," Callie reassured us.
"Yes I know," Amelia said. She signed the discharge papers and I grabbed her hand. She smiled at me.
"Still hurts like a bitch," she laughed.
"Can I carry you?" I asked.
"We don't have a car to get home," she said.
"Call Derek or Mer," I suggested.
"Derek's in surgery he wouldn't shut up about this great tumor he had," she laughed, "and oh! There's Meredith." Meredith turned around.
"Need a ride?" She asked, "glad you guys are ok." Amelia walked over and hugged her tight. I put my arms around both of them and we walked out to Mer's car.
AMELIAS POV
We all got home and Owen helped me get inside. I can walk but it really hurts, a couple of black and blues were forming on my leg. I made a cup of coffee and sat down at the table.
"I'm heading to bed," Mer said walking up the stairs.
"Ok night," I said.
"Night," she said and closed her door. Owen sat across from me. I reached across and put my hand on top of his.
"I can't go to work for a few days," I said.
"We want you to get better," he said.
-
Owen helped me into bed and we watched TV for a while. I felt my eyes get heavy and I looked up at Owen. He smiled down at me and ran his fingers through my hair.
"Don't fight it, get some sleep," he said. I nuzzled my head into the crook of his neck and closed my eyes. He rubbed my back and we eventually fell asleep.
