Hidden Feelings

•Chapter 11•

AMELIAS POV
Owen was at work and I was sitting in bed on my phone. I didn't wanna move but I was starving. Someone knocked on the door.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Can I come in," Derek asked.
"Yup," I said. Derek opened the door and sat down next to me.
"Where's Owen?" He asked.
"Got paged last night," I said. He sat down next to me and I put my head on his shoulder. I pulled the sheets off my leg. It's was all black and blue.
"Oh that's cute," I laughed.
"I'm glad you're okay," Derek said and kissed the top of my head.
"It's hurts a lot," I said.
"Looks like it hurts," he said.
"Wow thanks," I laughed. Mer came in with Bailey in her arms. I pulled the sheet back over my leg. I held my arms out and Mer put him in my lap.
"Good morning buddy," I said.
"Be careful around Aunt Amelia's leg ok?" Derek told him.
"What happened," Bailey said looking at me.
"I had an accident, but I'm ok," I said.
"Did it hurt?" He asked.
"Yeah it did hurt, a lot," I said.
"Did mommy and daddy fix you?" He asked. He was so cute. I ran my fingers through his hair.
"Yes mommy and daddy fixed me," I said. He got up with Meredith and they went and made breakfast.
"Want anything to eat?" Derek asked.
"Do we have any pizza?" I laughed.
"Probably," he laughed. I sat up and hobbled over to my dresser. I looked in the mirror.
"Wow this looks really cute doesn't it, it matches my black shirt," I laughed.
"At least you can walk," he said.
"Mmmm true," I said, "now get out I'm changing."
"Okay okay," he laughed. I put sweatpants on and one of Owen's tshirts. I put my hair in a bun and took off my makeup from last night. My phone buzzed a few times. I looked over and saw a few texts from Owen.
(Texting)
"Hey sorry I wasn't there when you woke up, how are you feeling?" He typed, "I love you."
"I love you too," I typed back.
"How are you feeling?" He sent.
"I'm good, feeling better," I sent.
"Okay, love you, just got a page I'll see you soon," he sent.
"Okay love you," I sent.
I plugged my phone in and walked into the kitchen. Zola handed me a card she made and smiled.
"I hope you feel better so I made you this," she said.
"Thank you Zola!" I said. I put her card on the table and picked her up.
"Amelia are you going to work today?" Meredith asked.
"No, I'm not going for a few days," I said.
"I think the kids are sick of Day care, would you mind watching them?" she asked.
"Of course I'll watch them," I told her.
"Thank you," she said.
"My pleasure," I said. Her and Derek left for work.
"Can we color pictures?" Bailey asked.
"Sure!" I said. We colored for like an hour. After they colored I played dolls with Zola and Ellis, and then trains with Bailey. Owen face timed me and I picked up my phone.
"Hey guys wanna talk to Uncle Owen?" I asked.
"Yeah," Bailey said sitting next to me. Zola and Ellis did the same. I clicked accept and positioned my phone so everyone could see.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey guys," he said.
"Are you fixing people?" Bailey asked.
"Yes I fixed a lot of people today," Owen said.
"Are mommy and daddy there?" Zola asked.
"No, they're fixing people now," he said. I smiled and he smiled back. We all continued talking for a while until Owen got a page.
"Bye I love you," I said.
"Bye love you too," he said.
"Bye!" The kids said. I hung up and Bailey crawled into my lap.
"Can we make lunch?" Bailey asked.
"Oooo can I help?" Zola asked.
"We can all help," I said. I picked up Ellis and walked into the kitchen. I put Ellis in her high chair.
"What do you guys want?" I asked.
"Can we make pizzas?" Bailey asked.
"Sure," I said. I got all the ingredients out. We all made pizzas and I put them in the oven. We all sat on the couch and ate pizza and watched some show they all liked. Someone knocked on the front door. I looked out the window and I smiled. It was Owen. I unlocked the front door and kissed him softly.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey," he smiled and put his arm around me.
"Owen!" Bailey said running at him. He lifted him up and we all sat back down on the couch. Ellis moved into my lap and I put my other arm around Zola.

The kids were all getting tired. They were so cute. We were playing a random board game together and Ellis crawled over to me.
"Tired?" I asked. She nodded. I picked her up and kissed her head.
"I'm tired too," Bailey said getting up.
"Me three," Zola said. I walked them upstairs and they put their pajamas on and I put Ellis down in her crib. I read Bailey a bedtime story, and talked to Zola before she went to bed. They were so cute. I walked downstairs and Owen was on the couch on his phone.
"Hey," I said sitting down next to him.
"Fun day?" He asked.
"Yeah, they're so cute," I smiled.
"You're really cute," he said leaning in for a kiss. I kissed him softly.
"Any good surgeries," I asked.
"I know a brain tumor came in, and Derek wants to talk to you about it," he said.
"Really? I really want to go to work," I sighed.
"Also Bailey is stepping down as chief, and she wants me," he said.
"That's awesome!" I said, "I mean the you being chief part not the Bailey part, but if Bailey didn't step down then it wouldn't be you and I don't think I'm making any sense but congrats!" He chuckled and gave me another kiss.si heard my phone ring from the kitchen.
"Owen can you get that?" I asked cutely.
"Yes," he got up and kissed the top of my head. He brought my phone back over.
"Frick it's my mom," I said pacing, "what's a good excuse?" I was nervous I don't talk to my mom I mean I love her and I know she loves me but we've had a rocky relationship since all my drug use and Ryan and we haven't talked a lot and I don't know.
"Answer it," Owen said.
"Ok," I said softly and hit accept.
I put the phone up to my ear.
(On phone)
"Hello?" I said as I sat down. I felt Owen grab my hand. I squeezed it back.
"Amelia! So glad I could talk to you, I've already cleared this with Derek, but I'm coming to visit for a few days!" she said.
"Oh, that's great mom," I said.
"And then I can meet that Owen of yours," she said.
"Yup," I said.
"Okay well I don't wanna bother you too much but I wanted to tell you that so goodbye!" She said and hung up. I put the phone down on the table and looked at Owen.
"Everything ok?" He asked.
"I'm going to be sick," I said and ran to the bathroom. I locked the door behind me and paced back and forth. I started crying and throwing things and I heard Owen pound on the door. I unlocked it and sat in the corner. He came cover and sat next to me.
"Hey what's up?" He asked moving my hair out of my face.
"She's coming to visit, and wants to meet you," I said.
"That's bad?" he asked.
"She's judgmental what if she doesn't like you," I said.
"It's ok if she doesn't like me, as long as you like me," he said and kissed my cheek. I leaned into him and sighed.
"She's probably gonna want to talk to Derek the whole time anyway so," I laughed.
"Hey what time do Meredith or Derek come home?" He asked.
"Soon I think," I said.
"Let's go out," he said.
"Alright," I said.

Derek got home and I went out with Owen. We walked around the city and found a cute little cafe. We had coffee and cookies. It was so fun just him and me. We held hands as we walked. I smiled at him and he kissed my cheek.
"Well if we're meeting your mom, it would only be fair if we meet mine," he said.
"Sounds fair," I said. We both started laughing as we walked. We went into a few shops together and bought stuff. We got back to his trailer and talked for hours. We finally fell asleep.
OWENS POV
I woke up to Amelia snoring. She was so cute but her snoring was so loud. I rolled her over and she kinda stopped. She was really cute though. I got up and started making coffee. I couldn't go back to sleep. About an hour later Amelia got up and got dressed.
"Hey you know you snore?" I asked.
"No I don't," she said.
"Yeah you do," I laughed.
"I do not," she laughed.
"Yes you do you woke me up," I laughed.
"Oh sorry about that," she said. I wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed her cheek. I made breakfast since Amelia doesn't cook and we ate it together on the deck. After about an hour Derek and another woman came walking up the path.
"Frick that's my mom," Amelia said. She got up and looked at me.
"Tell her I'm sleeping," she said and opened the trailer door.
"Amelia!" I heard Derek yell.
"It's too early for this!" She yelled and walked inside. Derek and her mom walked up the stairs to the trailer. I opened the door for them because I didn't know what else to do.
AMELIAS POV
Derek and Mom came into the trailer. They both sat down.
"Amelia it's so nice to see you!" She said and reached her arms out for a hug. I hugged and and sat across from her. I patted the seat next to me and Owen sat down next to me.
"This must be Owen," she said.
"Yeah mom," I said sipping my coffee. I looked over and Owen and smiled. I felt him grab my hand under the table. We talked for a little while and it wasn't super painful. She really only wanted to talk to Owen for the most part. Derek and Owen had to go into work and that meant I was left with mom. They got up and Owen gave me a kiss goodbye and they left.
"So do you live here?" Mom asked.
"I love with Derek but I stay here sometimes," I said.
"He's very nice," she said.
"Yeah he is," I smiled.
"You're not taking drugs right," she asked.
"I'm not taking drugs," I said.
"I love you," she said.
"I love you too mom," I said.
"Oh I have a grand idea Amelia, how about we all have a family dinner, you and Owen, and Derek and Meredith it would be great, and the kids of course," she said.
"I mean if they aren't busy sure," I said.
"What do you do here all day?" She asked.
"It's only for a few more days, I either watch Tv all day or watch the kids," I said.
"Do you want kids?" She asked. I never told anyone about LA. They don't know I lost a baby, I only told Owen that. I stopped for a minute.
"Yes, I do," I said.
"Does he want kids?" She asked.
"Yeah, four," I said.
"That's nice," she said.
