Hidden Feelings

•Chapter 19•

AMELIAS POV
Owen and I were eating dinner outside. We put out a blanket and ate under the stars. It was so nice and relaxing. I heard my pager beep from my pocket. I looked at Owen and frowned. I looked at it and it was a 911.
"Shit okay I gotta go," I jumped up and ran inside. I changed and grabbed Owen's keys. I kissed him goodbye and rushed over to the hospital. I ran in and April brought me into Trauma 3 where the patient was. I got gowned and started looking at the intense head bleed. The wound must go deeper.
"What the hell happened?" I asked.
"Major car accident," april said.
"Okay, get him a CT scan and I need an OR booked," I said. The CT came back as a massive brain bleed, and the guy had a brain tumor. I looked at Edwards.
"So what are we gonna do?" She asked.
"Well we could stop the bleed, but we can't take the tumor out without consent," I said. I pushed him up to the OR and got scrubbed quick.

As bad as the bleed was, Edwards and I got the bleed under control. Later, after the patient wakes up we'll ask for consent about the brain tumor. I looked at my phone and it was 3am. My shift didn't start until 6. I went into an empty on call room and crawled into one of the beds. I was so tired, but I really wanted Owen. I mean it wasn't worth it to drive back home. I laid down and tried to fall asleep. Not going back home made me realize how much I hate sleeping alone. I texted him a few times but I know he's sleeping. I eventually fell asleep.

I woke up to Owen next to me. He was peacefully sleeping next to me. I tried to get up but his arm was around my waist. I accidentally woke him by trying to grab my pager.
"Mmm hey good morning," I said.
"Good morning," he mumbled into my side.
"It's 5am, when did you get here?" I asked.
"I got all your texts and decided I'd come over early," he said.
"You didn't have to do that," I giggled.
"Yeah but I did it because I love you," he smiled.
"Well I love you too," I said.
