"You're finally up." Alex sat on his bedside and gently caressed his cheek and passed her hands through Albrecht silver white hair. He blinked slowly and looked up at her.
"Am I dreaming?" He muttered.
"If you were, that will be a stupid question." She chuckled while stroking his hair.
"So I am not, but you're just the person I wanted to see." He smiled and tried to get up.
"No, don't try to get up, just yet." She helped him sit up in the bed.
"What happened to me?"
"Well you killed the most powerful sorcerer in the country, probably in the world and tried absorb his life force." She brought a bowl of soup and began feeding him.
"I am not a baby." He took the spoon from her but his hand was shaking so much he couldn't feed himself. "Seriously, what happened to me?" he dropped the spoon back into the bowl and stared at Alex concerned.
"Unfortunately for you, he had named me to inherit his life force when he dies. Then you came, killed him and tried to take it by force. But the thing about a sorcerer's will is that it is binding no matter what happens just like a pact. So when you were trying to absorb that energy, it backfired, you hemorrhaged a huge amount of energy and you blacked out."
"So where did that energy go?"
"It came to me, it was mine to begin with the moment you killed him."
"I don't understand. Why was I absorbing his life force? I only meant to kill him."
"It's not like you have a choice, you absorb the life force of everyone you kill. It's part of your curse. And why did you want to kill him? He was the only one who could give me answers" She yelled at him.
"I can't tell you that." He said looking away from her.
"Why is that? I still had so much more to ask him, why can't you tell me?" She asked but Albrecht only stared at her intently.
"I really can't." He smiled and shook his head. Alexandria calmed down and continued feeding him. "Why did you abandon me?" He asked after she finished feeding him the bowl of soup.
"I didn't abandon you, I left you in capable hands." She smiled at him.
"Not that, I was lonely." He said fidgeting with his hands.
"Aww." She hugged him and kissed his cheek. "I have to go out to do something, when I come back I am coming to kill you." She smiled evilly as she exited.
"Wait, wait." He called after her. "Have you seen the people I was with?"
"People? When I got here you were alone, unconscious."
"For how long?"
"Well considering I came here as soon as I felt the power surge, I'd say a week."
"It took you a week to get here."
"No, I've been looking after you for a week."
"I think they've being kidnapped."
"Why do you think so?"
"Because I've been unconscious for a week and when I finally woke up they were nowhere to be found."
"Maybe they just left without you."
"No they wouldn't do that to me." He said firmly.
"Hmm, anyway I am going out. I'll be back and don't even think about healing yourself, you can't heal a magical wound with magic."
