Chapter Five
Casserate
Felix's POV:
Last night had been rough but at least I had managed a good four hours of sleep. Rather than roll back over and try to fall back asleep I decided to start a prodictive morrning with a quick warm shower. Once showered and dressed in some black sweats and a dark grey fitted T-shirt I made my way to the window nook where my are supplies and current project lay propped against the wall.
The wolf in the painting looked erily familiar which is odd because I'd never seen a living wolf in my life. I felt....sad almost while looking at it. I suppose it could be my own emotions but the way I had shaped the wolf's form looked like the wolf was giving in and crying out it's sorrows to the moonless sky.
"I feel ya buddy." I mummbled as I strared at the painting a minute more, trying to decide how to proceed with it.
I set about making myself a cup of tea and once I had my steaming cup of deliciousness in hand, I began preping my color pallet, makingsure my previously mixed colors were still workable and mixing the new colors I'd need to balance out the darkness of the piece.
I worked for the next few hours, letting the layers dry now and then while I thought about what to do next. By the time my alarm blared, signaling for me to wake up my baby boy, the piece was all but complete. Normally a piece this complex would have taken me weeks to complete but with the lack of sleep I seem to be getting lately it has taken only a few days.
I cleaned my brush gently and set it aside to dry and turned to go wake up my son only to jump and let out a not so manyly squeak when I spot him standing only a couple of feet away.
"Morning Daddy. S' fer brekfas?" He slurred, rubbing his eyes to get rid of the sleep still in them.
I hurriedly removed my smock and set it aside before picking him up and cuddling him to my chest. I gently brushed the hair from his face and kissed his forehead, breathing in his uniqe scent of berries and his lavender lotion we apply after each bath time.
"Morning baby. How is my big boy this morning?" I ask, setting him down in his usual chair.
"Hungry." He grumbles just before his stomach lets out a loud rumble, agreeing with what he just said.
"Alright," I nodd, "What would you like this monring, We had pankackes yeaterday so how about a omlette today hmm?""Fooooood." He groans before laying his head against the table and sighing.
I laugh and get to work pulling together the ingredients for a cheese and spinich omlette. I set the skillet to heat and melt the butter while I mix the eggs, milk and sour cream together. I pour it in the pan once I see the butter is melted and sprinkile in the spinich and cheese filling. I carfully flip the confection once I'm sure it's done on that side and wait another minute more before turning it out onto my plate to be cut up.
I pass a good protion of the omlette over onto his plate and watch as his nose twitches before he sits up and he groans, "Yuuuuuum."
The food takes little to no time to gobble up and as he leave the table to wash up and brush his teeth, I wash up the dishes and go on the hunt for an outfit for him.
I settle on a navy blue and white polo and some khaki cargo pants for him for the day as it's supposed to be fairly warm and I'm certiain the teacher will repeat recess today.I help him get dressed and hand him his backpack before checking to make sure I have everything. I make sure the house is locked up before we hop in the car and start the drive to his school.
