Fourteen: Hunted

(Monday)

"Okay, Sis. So, what do we do now?" Yan-kun asked Ayano. "Guys, don't you noticed something different about this?" I asked. "What do you mean?" Ayano asked. "Well..." I pointed to the students as they walked by.

"Everyone's wearing new uniforms." I mentioned. "And so are we." Yan-kun said. We all looked at ourselves, noticing that were in black and red uniforms. "The atmosphere feels weird, too." I stated. "Let's go talk to Info-chan." Ayano said.

The three of us headed to her room and knocked on her door. "Info-chan, we need to talk." Yan-kun said, knocking on her door. "Come in," The door opened and we all entered her room. The moment we did, the door closed behind us.

"I've been expecting you," Info-chan slowly turned around in her chair, facing us. "Congratulations. You three have just entered a Mission Mode in the timeline." She said, smirking. "What's that?" Ayano asked.

"You, Ayano Aishi, and you, Amaya Aishi, must kill a target that I assign you." Info-chan said. "And what about Yan-kun?" I asked. "He will play no part of this. So, he should leave since this has nothing to do with him." Info-chan said.

"No way. I'm staying here." Yan-kun said. "Have your way," She shrugged. "In Mission Mode, the two of you, Ayano and Amaya, must eliminate a target." Info-chan explained.

"Easy enough." Ayano said. "But there's more," Ayano and I turned around as a guy walked around us, heading over to Info-chan. "There's at least nine more steps to it than that." The guy mentioned. "And you are...?" Yan-kun asked.

"My name is Info-kun. Info-chan's twin brother." He introduced. "You never told us you had a brother." Ayano said to Info-chan. "Well, you know what they say: Some things are meant to be left unsaid." She said, smirking.

"What are the nine other steps?" I asked. "Listen, and listen to your assignments well. Ayano, you must to kill Kokona Haruka. Amaya, you must kill Yui Rio. You can use any weapon to kill them with, and you can kill the target wearing any clothing. Also, it's not necessary to dispose of the target's corpse." Info-chan said.

"That's it? Sounds easy." Ayano said. "Ah, ah, ah~. You didn't listen to all the steps." Info-kun said.

"Once you've killed your targets, you must clean up all the blood. You are not allowed to speak to any students. Kill only, and ONLY the target. Dispose of the murder weapon. Don't let security cameras observe your suspicious behavior. No witnesses. Don't pass through metal detectors while carrying a weapon. You must get a key, unlock a safe, and steal documents from it. And finally, you must complete the mission in under 10 minutes." Info-chan explained.

"Is that all?" Ayano asked. "That's all." Info-kun confirmed. "Oh, and there's one more thing I forgot to mention. Throughout the whole mission, the two of you are being hunted by a nemesis." Info-chan said.

"By who?" I asked. "I've sent you a picture of her on your phone. Take a look." Ayano and I checked our phones and found a picture of a girl with messy black hair and red eyes, wearing the exact same uniform that we were.  

"Your mission starts now. Good luck." Info-chan said with a smirk before turning around in her chair so she was facing her computer screens. Ayano, Yan-kun, and I left the room, heading to our mission. We found Kokona and Yui by the courtyard, talking with the social butterflies.

"Kokona will be taking her phone call any minute now." Ayano said. "You could kill her after she's done taking her phone call. But I still need to find a way to kill Yui." I said, monotonously. "While you're thinking, you could steal the documents." Ayano mentioned.

"Right." I agreed, and ran off. I found the key, unlocked the safe, then stole the documents. I better hurry back downstairs. When I got to lockers, I saw Ayano on the floor with someone on top of her as if they were trying to kill her.

"Ayano!" I ran over to her and tackled the person off of her. My eyes widened when I noticed I had tackled the Nemesis. "Ayano, run! Hurry!" I said as I tried pinning Nemesis down. I hissed in pain with Nemesis scratched my cheek with a knife, but I couldn't to restrain her.

Ayano quickly stood to her feet and ran off. When I saw her turn the corner, I gasped as a wire was wrapped around my neck from behind. "I've got this one. You go on and get Ayano." I heard a male voice said from behind me.

Nemesis gave a nod and quickly walked off to hunt down Ayano. I coughed and gagged as I struggled get the wire off from around my neck. I made a bold move and smashed the back of my head into my attacker's face.

He let go of the wire, allowing me to scramble away and stand to my feet. I turned around and widened my eyes when I saw that my attacker was Nemesis, but as a male. Was this Nemesis's brother? Nemesis-kun? I have to get away from him.

I ran off as Nemesis-kun followed me, walking pretty fast. As I ran, I took the wire off my neck and threw it aside. I have to hide, but where? I turned the corner until I was forcibly pulled into a room. "Shh! Stay quiet!" My face was buried inside the person's chest. "Who-?"

"Shh!"

I stayed quiet and frozen as I heard footsteps. I didn't feel scared, but I did feel nervous as I worried Nemesis-kun might find me. Once the footsteps have passed, I lifted my head, looking at up at my savior.

"Oko?"

Never in a million years did I expect to be saved by an Occult member. Never in a million years did I expect to be saved by anyone.

"I'm glad you're all right. It makes me happy that you're not harmed." Oko said, smiling gently down at me.
