Thirty Three: Covering Up

"Well, Amaya? Why are you in here when you should be in class?" Megamo demanded. I didn't answer as I stared at him. His eyes went from me to the answer sheets that were under my hands. "Don't tell me... You're stealing?" He said, almost shocked.

"You wouldn't undestand my situation." I said. "Stealing is against the rules and you know that." Megamo stated. "If you wanna tell on me, then go ahead. Just leave me alone." I said. Megamo glanced at me, then at the door, then sighed.

"Hurry it up." He said. "Huh?" I gave him a confused look. "Kyoshi will be here any second, so hurry up. I'll keep a look out." Megamo said. I couldn't believe my ears. Was he really helping? The Student Council Vice President was helping ME?

I quickly searched for the answer sheets while Megamo kept a look out. "I've got 'em." I said. I hid the answer sheets under my shirt and Megamo and I quickly ran out of the Teacher's Lounge just as Kyoshi was walkign inside.

We ran over to the lockers and made sure we were hidden. "Why?" I asked him.

"Why what?"

"Why did you help me? Why didn't you just tell on me?"

"I... wasn't supposed to help you. But for you... I would break any rule."

I blinked as a small blush crept on my face. "Why?" I asked. "Because... maybe it's because..." He trailed off before hugging me. "M-Megamo?" I glanced up at him as I felt my heart racing. "Just please don't tell anyone about this? Okay?" He whispered.

"I won't. I promise. It'll be our secret." I said. Megamo broke the hug and smiled a small smile while a blush formed on his face. "Hurry up and get to class. You're late." He said. "Right... Megamo... Um, thank you. For helping me out." I said before quickly running off to class.

Can I really trust Megamo? How do I know he won't just rat me out to the principal? But why did he help me when he knows he'll get in trouble?

Do I know the answers to any of those three questions?
