Twelve: Demon Powers

(Wednesday)

Ayano, Yan-kun, and I waited near the stairs of the Occult Club, waiting for each member to arrive. "So, what's the plan here, Ayano?" Yan-kun asked. "Did you bring the circular saw and Ritual Knife?" She asked.

"I have the saw." Yan-kun answered. "And I have the knife." I said, handing it to her. I stole the knife from the room right after I left. "So, who wants to go first?" Yan-kun asked. "Well, seeing how Ayano has the knife, I say she can go first." I said.

After Ayano entered the Occult Club, Yan-kun and I closed the doors so none of the Occult Club members would escape. But I noticed Oko was the only Occult Club member that wasn't in the room. The moment we closed those doors, we instantly heard screaming.

"It's done." We heard Ayano call. Yan-kun and I opened the doors and stepped inside. "What a mess." Yan-kun said as he stepped over the dead bodies. "Come on. Help me drag them into the circle." Ayano said as she went over to Supana's corpse.

Yan-kun and I helped her as we dragged all the bodies into the circle. "Okay, now what?" Yan-kun asked. Both he and Ayano looked me for an answer.  I took a book off the shelf and flipped through the pages. I stopped when I spotted a picture of the Pain Demon.

"Well, according to this, there's a way to get the Pain Demon's powers." I explained, reading the book. "Let me see." Ayano said. I handed her the book and she read it over. "Okay. Yan-kun, Amaya. Stand outside the circle." Ayano instructed.

We did as she said and she began to dismember all the bodies. After dismembering the last member, we all heard a voice. "...Revenge... at last..."

Yan-kun and I gasped at the same time as Ayano began to levitate into the air while large hands emerged from the floor. "Ayano... You have the Pain Demon's powers." I said in amazement. "Now let's put these powers to use." Ayano said in a demonic voice.

She floated outside the room with demon hands around her and we followed her. We went into the courtyard and when she got close to the students, the hands dismembered them in one blow. "Now that's pretty freaking cool." Yan-kun said.

Ayano went around the school, killing every student and teacher in sight, except for Taro. By lunchtime, everyone was in the school was dead except for Yan-kun, Ayano, Taro (who ran away) and I. "What now?" I asked Ayano.

"Which demon did you say lent me their power?" Ayano asked in her demonic tone while she was still in the air. "The Pain Demon." I answered, emotionlessly. "Then, that means it's still the Flame Demon and the Lust Demon." Ayano said.

"My turn! I wanna try out the Flame Demon's powers!" Yan-kun said, excitedly. "Fine." I said. Ayano took out the Rest device and we all held it. "Resting the week." We all said at the same time. I pressed the button and a white light surrounded us.

(Monday)

The three of us stood in front of the school as the students of Akademi walked past us, entering the school. "Do you still have the book?" Yan-kun asked me. I gave a nod and held it up to me. "What does it say?" Ayano asked.

"We need the Ritual Knife and the something to heat it with." I read from the book. "How do we heat the knife?" Yan-kun asked. I shrugged my shoulders. "Wait, I think saw some mini flame torches in the Science Club." I said. 

I led the way while my siblings followed me. Once we made it to the Science Club, I went over to the table with mini flaming torches. I took out the Ritual Knife and heated it, using the blow torches. "Now what?" Yan-kun asked.

"It says you need to embed the Ritual Knife into the  skull." I said, reading from the book. We headed down to the Occult Club as all the members were there except for Oko and Oka. "Here," I handed the Ritual Knife over to Yan-kun.

"You wanted the Demon powers. You do it." I said. He took the knife from me and embedded it into the skull. We all froze when we heard the Flame Demon's voice. "Do you yearn for my power that badly? Very well. Have a taste."

The Ritual Knife suddenly caught fire. Ayano and I quickly went outside the Occult room and closed the doors. The moment we closed those doors, the next thing we heard was screaming. Once the screaming desist, we opened the doors and stepped inside.

"What now, Amaya?" Yan-kun asked. I opened the book and read the instructions. "It says, once all the bodies have charred, place them inside the diagram." I explained.

"That's it?"

"That's all it says."

Yan-kun got to work as he began picking up the bodies and placing them side the diagram. Once all the bodies were inside the diagram, they disappeared while Yan-kun stood inside the circle. "Amaya, get back." Ayano said as she pulled me away from Yan-kun.

"You have proven your worth. Very well. I shall lend you my power."

Yan-kun's clothes changed while he began to levitate in the air with flames in his hands. "Now let's see what these things can do." Yan-kun said before flying out of the Occult Club. "Let's go." Ayano said as we followed him.

We went to the courtyard and saw Yan-kun throwing flames at everyone. "Now, this is more like it." He said in a demonic voice. "Which demon does that leave, Amaya?" Ayano asked. "The Lust Demon. But the book doesn't say how to get her powers." I said, looking over the book.

"Come on, we should go home before the police arrive." Ayano said. I nodded in agreement. "Hey! Yan-kun! Enough with the burning already! Let's go home!" Ayano called to him. "But I'm having so much fun!" He whined.

"Now." Ayano said, bluntly. "Ugh... Fine." Yan-kun stopped his attack and floated over to us. We all went home, leaving the bodies of our classmates burning.
