Chapter Three
I then closed the door and went and sat on the floor beside Jennifer.
She sat up and lean on my shoulder and wrapped her arm around my back.
I smiled and wrapped my arm around he back.
I saw Jeremy grab Jennifers hand and I saw my sister smile and intertwine her fingers with his out of the corner of my eye.
They have known each other two years.
I had never seen my little sister so happy with any of her friends.
I knew Jennifer and Jeremy liked each other.
But what I didn't know is why they were trying to be so secretive about it.
I decided I would talk to Jennifer later.
"I gotta go home Jenny. See ya later." said Jeremy and he stood up and held his hand out to her.
She removed her arm from around me and took his outstreched hand.
He pulled her up and sprung into his arms.
They hugged each other tight.
They both pulled away with a huge smile on their face.
I quickly averted my gaze and went and sat on the couch.
I started staring at the tv.
Jennifer walked over and pounced onto the couch beside me and leaned on my shoulder.
I smiled but didn't say anything.
I knew for a fact that sooner or later my little sister would break the silence and hopefully finally tell me what I've been dying to hear.
Knowing my sister sheshe will break the silence in 3...2...
"Okay out with it. What do you wanna say?" Jennifer asked and pulled away from me moved around so that she was in front of me in indian style.
"Why is me acknowledgeing that you and Jeremy crushing on each other such a bad thing to you. I am not stupid I know yall like each other." I said to her
"I've told you me and Jeremy are friends. Best friends. We aren't a couple if we were I wouldn't deny it." said Jennifer.
"I never said yall were a couple. But I know yall like each other so why aren't yall?" I said.
"I am only ten Sade. I know you and I are like best friends but there is a an age difference of a few years between us." said Jennifer.
"I don't forget your age, but you are more mature for your age than I was.I mean I didn't hug boys until I was like twelve.I mean high fiving them was as affectionate as I was." I said.
Then it hit me.
She wasn't planning on admitting she had any intrest in any guy until she was twelve like I was.
She could tell by my facial expression that I had figured this out.
"Sis, I don't expect you to be just like me. If you are crushing at age ten that is fine. I just wish you would come to me to talk about it." I said.
"Okay, okay. Yeah I like him. Jeremy and I have actually discussed that we like each other but we think it would be best if we were twelve or even thirteen before we became girlfriend and boyfriend. Honestly it's driving me crazy though. He hugs me and holds my hand. I am shocked he hasn't kissed me on the cheek. I wouldn't be surprised if he did soon." said Jennifer.
I squealed in delight like a pre-teen girl and I threw my arms around her ina hug.
Jennifer pushed me away laughing.
