Chapter Twenty Four
My phone rang as soon as I shut Jennifer's door.
I smiled and pulled my phone out of my pocket.
Then I noticed that it was Daniel that was calling.
I sighed but I answered.
"We will talk tommorow." I said and hung up.
I then went to my room and lay on my bed on my stomache.
I reached out to my bedside table and opened tthe drawer and pulled out my headphones.
I plugge them into my cell and picked a song by Taylor Swift to listen to.
A few minutes later my phone rang again.
But this time it was Chandler.
I yanked my headphones out of my ears and out of my cell.
I answered.
"Hey Chandler." I said.
"I sense relief in that. What's going on?" Chandler asked me.
"My boyfriend called a few minutes ago. I said talk to you tommorow and hung up. I have been doing better without talking to him lately and I know that sound aweful but he makes me more upset and..." I trailed off.
"It doesn't sound aweful it sounds human." said Chandler.
"Hey I'm off tommorow. Would you like to hang out sometime?" Chandler asked me.
"Yeah that would be great. I live on 1888 Sunlight Lane. You can come by any time." I said.
"Wow. I just live one street over." said Chandler.
"That's neat." I said.
"Yeah. So are you gonna tell your boyfriend we're hanging out?" Chandler asked.
"I don't know. I probably will though because I don't want to cause any more trouble between us." I said.
"Yeah. I understand." Chandler said.
"But I want you to know even if he doesn't like me hanging out with you I won't stop. That is unless you don't want to hang out with me." I said.
"I do wanna hang out with you and I will." said Chandler.
"Okay...but what if he wants to dump you because you're hanging out with m?" Chandler asked me.
"Then he breaks up with me so what it won't be the end of the world." I said.
It was how I felt but it shocked me to hear myself say it.
"Wow." said Chandler.
I laughed and again shocked myself by laughing.
"Ever since I met you and my boyfriend found out things haven't been the same...if he's gonna be jealous of my friends...then he's not worth dating." I said.
"You deserve better sadie." Chandler whispered.
"You really think so?" I asked him.
"Huh?" was his response.
"Oh I wasn't meant to hear that was I?" I asked.
"I'm kinda embarassed you heard that, but you need to know that." said Chandler.
"He was perfect...what happened." I said more to myself then to him.
"Sometimes when people change it isn't for the better." said Chandler.
"Yeah. I never even knew he was the jealous type and I have known him since I was fourteen." I said.
"Yeah. well he's changed and you shouldn't tolerate how he's been treating you." said Chandler.
I yawned.
"I don't wanna keep you up. You can go to sleep." said Chandler.
"No I wanna..."I cut myself off by yawning.
Chandler laughed.
"Go to sleep sweetheart." said Chandler.
I laughed a little.
"Sorry I meant Sadie." Chandler said.
"I told you I'm not offended. Good night Chandler." I said and hung up.
I the fell right to sleep with my phone still in my hand.
